Full Job Description
The Role

We are hiring Senior Platform Engineers to build the product and systems through which customers experience Clark.

You will own features from initial customer problem through frontend experience, backend architecture, data models, integrations, deployment, and production operation.

This is a broad engineering role for someone who enjoys moving across the stack, working directly with users, and solving the highest-leverage technical problem regardless of where it lives.

You will help build customer-facing workflows, integrations, shared services, internal tools, and the engineering foundation that allows Clark to scale.

Why This Role Matters

Clark's customers operate across complex workflows involving documents, accounting systems, workpapers, approvals, evidence, and collaboration. Our product must make those workflows simpler without sacrificing reliability, security, or control.

Full-stack engineers turn Clark's AI capabilities into complete products that customers can deploy, understand, and trust. They also build the integrations and platform foundations that allow Clark to connect with existing systems and support increasingly complex enterprise workflows.

The systems you build will directly affect customer adoption, product velocity, reliability, and Clark's ability to scale.

What You'll Do
  • Design and ship customer-facing product features from frontend through backend
  • Build intuitive interfaces for complex audit and accounting workflows
  • Design APIs, services, data models, background jobs, and application architecture
  • Work with AI engineers to turn AI capabilities into reliable, reviewable product experiences
  • Build integrations, connectors, synchronization systems, and data-ingestion workflows
  • Connect Clark with accounting platforms, document repositories, workflow tools, and customer systems
  • Build shared services and reusable product infrastructure
  • Improve application reliability, stability, scalability, and performance
  • Improve observability, monitoring, alerting, and operational tooling
  • Improve testing, deployment, and release processes
  • Investigate production issues and resolve performance bottlenecks
  • Integrate internal systems such as CRM, support, knowledge, communication, and operational tools
  • Partner directly with customers, Audit Engineers, Customer Success, Implementation, Sales, and Product
  • Translate ambiguous customer and business problems into well-designed technical solutions
  • Maintain high standards for security, data protection, maintainability, and operational excellence
  • Help establish the engineering practices and technical foundations that Clark will scale on

Who You Are
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience building and operating production web applications
  • Strong frontend and backend engineering fundamentals
  • Able to independently own features across user experience, application logic, data, and infrastructure
  • Experience designing APIs, data models, background processing, and integrations
  • Experience with modern web applications, relational databases, and cloud infrastructure
  • Strong product sense and empathy for customers
  • Comfortable working directly with users and incorporating feedback quickly
  • Excellent judgment around reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability
  • Comfortable debugging across application, integration, and infrastructure boundaries
  • Able to balance speed with long-term technical quality
  • High ownership, strong communication, and comfort operating in ambiguous environments
  • Excited to operate in person with a fast-moving, talent-dense team

Bonus
  • Experience building enterprise SaaS or complex workflow products
  • Experience building APIs, integrations, connectors, or data-synchronization systems
  • Experience with accounting systems, document-management systems, or professional-services workflows
  • Experience building products that incorporate LLMs or other AI capabilities
  • Experience with platform engineering, developer tooling, observability, or production reliability
  • Experience building internal tools and workflow automation
  • Experience with security, identity, access control, compliance, or regulated customer environments
  • Experience at an early-stage startup
