What You Will Do:

As a Senior Engineer, Gas Supply & Planning, reporting to the Manager, Gas Supply and Planning, you will lead hydraulic modelling, capital project planning, and long-term system analysis to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the gas distribution system. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Leading the development, validation, and enhancement of system hydraulic models to support long-term planning and industry best practices.
• Planning and justifying major capital projects, including system upgrades, expansions, and gas supply initiatives.
• Leading project sequencing, system analysis, and technical and economic evaluations of project alternatives.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to incorporate growth forecasts, gas supply requirements, and asset renewal strategies into long-range plans.
• Providing technical expertise related to system modelling, engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies.
• Supporting regulatory applications, business case development, and compliance activities.
• Providing engineering guidance and technical support to project teams and other departments.
• Performing other duties as assigned while demonstrating a commitment to safety

What You Will Bring:

Required qualifications:
• University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with APEGA.
• 7-10 years of related engineering experience in gas utility, pipeline, hydraulic modelling, or system planning environments.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
• Experience with hydraulic modelling software such as Synergi Gas and strong knowledge of natural gas system design and industry best practices.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, GIS/ESRI, and CAD applications.
• Working knowledge of utility systems such as Maximo and Abadata.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing technical reports and business cases.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience with regulatory applications, capital project planning, and long-range system planning is considered an asset.
