Full Job Description
Role description:

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in Transmission Distribution & Battery Storage (TDS), high voltage transformer stations, protection and control including intelligent electronic devices (IEDs). This role will involve working on cutting-edge projects that incorporate the latest industry standards and technologies, including battery energy storage and T&D planning.

Role accountabilities:
  • Lead the design and implementation of Transmission and Distribution systems including grid battery storage, focusing on substations and protection and control strategies.
  • Oversee the integration of intelligent electronic devices and ensure compliance with the latest industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and manage battery energy storage solutions to enhance grid reliability and performance.
  • Provide expert consultation on T&D planning to optimize current and future power infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet client needs and project specifications.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success and compliance.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 20-25 years of experience in electrical engineering but prefer 15+ years of experience with a focus on Transmission &Distribution systems. Battery Energy Storage is a plus.
  • Proven experience with substations, protection and control systems, BESS, and IEDs. Ontario Experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the latest industry standards and practices, including energy storage technologies, as well as Canadian provinces regulations.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead complex engineering projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in client-facing roles.
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng) license in Onatrio is preferred; other Provinces is a plus. PMP designation is also welcomed.

The salary range for this position is: $131,000 - $196,000. The base salary represents Arcadis' hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
