Qualifications

Full Job Description
  • Role: Senior Electrical - Journeyperson
  • Location: Grande Prairie, Alberta
  • Shift: 8 days on, 6 days off (10 hr days)
  • Overtime: Project based
  • Pre-Employment Condition: Pre-employment D&A test required

Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all company Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Mentor apprentices and provide guidance on electrical installations, maintenance, and safe work practices.
  • Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications.
  • Install and maintain conduit systems, including rigid, aluminum, EMT, and PVC.
  • Understand and inter-operate the most current Canadian electrical code book and exercise the rules when applicable.
  • Understand and execute basic circuit fundamentals, alternating current circuit properties, heating and cooling systems, magnetic control and switching circuits, three phase systems, transformers, machines, control and switching/PLC, fire alarm systems, red seal programs, industry network, and applications of electronics.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical equipment such as MCCs, motors, PLC panels, heat trace, batteries, solar panels, voltage regulators, and VFDs.
  • Test electrical equipment and components for current, voltage and OHMS.
  • Assist with electrical installations, repairs, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Responsible for all administrative, material ordering, and QAQC documents directly associated with the project at hand.
  • Other duties as required.

Job Requirements:
  • Certified Journeyperson Electrician.
  • A valid Class 5 license with a clean driver abstract.
  • Valid H2S, First Aid, OSSA Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, CSO, and CSTS.
  • Typically 7 or more years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial electrical equipment and systems.
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas industry in construction or maintenance is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work in various working conditions ranging from outdoors to indoors in a variety of weather conditions and working from heights as needed.
  • A pre-employment drug and alcohol test is required prior to employment.
