Job Summary
We are looking for a talented and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer - Development & Test to play a key role in the development, validation, troubleshooting, and production readiness of our Pro AV products.
This position serves as the technical bridge between our electrical test and validation team and our automated test development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical engineering foundation, hands-on board bring-up experience, and the ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and automated test system issues.

This is a hands-on position. This is NOT a remote or hybrid position.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with a team of hands-on engineers and participate in hardware development, design review, testing, troubleshooting, verification, and documentation of new video system designs.
• Perform board bring-up activities including visual inspection, power rail validation, processor initialization, memory verification, and interface testing.
• Execute design verification and validation (V&V) testing for new products and prototypes.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and root cause analysis using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, protocol analyzers, and other lab equipment.
• Investigate and diagnose product failures occurring during development, production testing, and field returns.
• Support the development and deployment of automated test systems used in engineering validation and manufacturing.
• Debug automated test system failures and determine whether issues originate from hardware, test configurations, fixtures, automation scripts, or product firmware.
• Collaborate with software, firmware, FPGA, and mechanical engineering teams during product development and qualification.
• Work closely with overseas software developers responsible for automated test scripts and provide technical guidance on hardware-related test issues.
• Assist in the development and improvement of test fixtures, test procedures, and manufacturing test strategies.
• Create detailed engineering documentation including test procedures, validation plans, failure analysis reports, and test results.
• Participate in internal design reviews and provide feedback on electrical design robustness, manufacturability, and testability.
• Collaborate with Production, Marketing, and Sales for product requirements, product releases, technical support, and testing activities.
• Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in electronics development, hardware validation, board bring-up, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience performing board bring-up on embedded hardware platforms.
• Experience with electrical verification and validation (V&V) testing.
• Experience debugging analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronic circuits.
• Experience using test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and power analyzers.
• Understanding of automated test systems and the interaction between hardware, software, instrumentation, fixtures, and test scripts.
• Experience troubleshooting automated test equipment and identifying root causes of test failures.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and PCB layouts.
• Experience with common embedded communication protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, and USB.
• Experience with Python scripting or debugging Python-based automated test scripts is preferred.
• Experience with FPGA development or FPGA troubleshooting is a plus.
• Experience working within ISO-regulated development environments is preferred.
• Experience writing engineering test reports, validation reports, and technical documentation is preferred.

Preferred Requirements

• Board bring-up and hardware validation of embedded systems.
• Python scripting for test automation.
• FPGA development or FPGA debugging.
• Development of manufacturing test processes and automated test equipment.
• Leadership, mentorship, or technical lead experience.
• Medical, industrial, networking, video, or communications electronics products.

Physical Job Requirements
The employee in the position will be required to occasionally move throughout the facilities, including climbing stairs, when necessary. Occasional bending and reaching in an office environment, including opening and closing file cabinets drawers with light grasping. Type on a standard keyboard (laptop or desktop). Use standard computer display screens. Use standard push-button phones and must speak clearly and be understood by others. Sit or stand in a standard upright position for a minimum of one hour, but up to 12 hours a day. Be able to lift and carry weight unassisted not exceeding 50 lbs.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
