Senior Electrical Engineer Role Join a growing industrial engineering consultancy as a Mid-Senior Electrical Engineer, leading the design and delivery of power distribution systems for complex industrial facilities across North America. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and play a key role in the continued expansion of a private-equity-backed engineering business. Key Responsibilities Lead the electrical design of low-voltage power distribution systems (600V and below) for industrial projects. Develop one-line diagrams, power distribution layouts, lighting systems, and electrical equipment specifications. Specify and integrate MCCs, switchgear, transformers, panelboards, and associated equipment. Perform short circuit, protective device coordination, load flow, and arc flash studies using industry-standard software such as SKM or EasyPower. Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA 70E, local codes, and industry best practices. Collaborate closely with process, mechanical, structural, instrumentation, and project management teams. Interface directly with clients throughout project execution, including design reviews, construction support, and commissioning activities. Support project planning, estimating, scheduling, and technical proposal development. Provide technical leadership and mentorship within multidisciplinary project teams. The Successful Candidate Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Active Professional Engineer (PE) licence. Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical engineering, ideally within industrial or consulting environments. Demonstrated experience designing industrial power distribution systems. Proficiency in power system studies, including arc flash, short circuit, and coordination analysis. Experience using SKM, EasyPower, or similar electrical analysis software. Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA standards, and industrial electrical design practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients and project teams. Experience within food processing, grain handling, biofuels, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, or manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
