Full Job Description
Qualifications
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or similar (e.g. Mechatronics, Computer, Mechanical, Robotics Engineering, Physics).
  • Five or more years of related work experience in industries such as material handling, process automation, piece part automation or semiconductor.
  • Significant experience successfully designing and bringing automation systems into production.
  • Willing to dive into entire life cycle of electrical design from ideation all the way through to production support and troubleshooting.
  • Desired expertise with:
    • PCB design, development, and deployment. Preferred experience with Altium.
    • Equipment such as conveyor systems, robot arms, photo-eyes, proximity sensors, VFD drives, barcode scanners, safety controllers.
    • Electrical system and component design - DC, analog, single phase and three phase circuit design. Industrial electrical work involving 220-480v hardware & standards.
  • Developing and maintaining electrical designs in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Various motor architectures in the power range of 50W-3kW.
  • Functional safety devices and relationship to Safety Performance Level.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical systems, sensors, mechanical systems, and controls logic.
  • Designing to UL / CE standards compliance.
  • Additional detailed experience in:
    • Root cause analysis and managing rollout of updates, including service bulletins.
    • Selection and control of BLDC, servo, stepper and induction motors.
    • Selecting, specifying and integrating sensing solutions including retroreflective, inductive proximity, Reed switches, and load cells.
    • SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD tool.
