The
Senior Engineer II for
Electromechanics / Electrical Design is responsible for the design, development, validation, and optimization of low-voltage power distribution products and electromechanical systems. This role works across multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate electrical, mechanical, and electronic technologies into innovative products that meet customer, regulatory, quality, cost, and performance requirements. The engineer applies technical expertise in
low-voltage electrical design, electrical power distribution systems, electrical equipment and devices, and electromechanical applications to support the complete product development lifecycle.
Responsibilities include: - Concept development
- Detailed design
- Simulation planning
- Prototyping
- Testing
- Validation
- Manufacturability optimization
- Sustaining engineering activities
The role requires experience developing electrical products such as power distribution equipment, electrical safety devices, current-carrying components, electromechanical assemblies, sheet metal components, and protection systems. The engineer evaluates product performance related to
electrical insulation systems, thermal behavior, arc fault protection, earth leakage protection, reliability, safety, and compliance with applicable standards. As a technical contributor within a multi-product development environment, the engineer demonstrates flexibility and adaptability while supporting diverse product portfolios. The position requires strong problem-solving capabilities, application of robust design methodologies, and collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and laboratory teams to deliver innovative and reliable solutions.
The engineer independently drives technical decisions, mentors less experienced engineers, and contributes to the continuous improvement of engineering processes while ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and business objectives. The role primarily supports the development of products within the Low Voltage Power Distribution and Electrical Distribution industry, where prior experience is strongly preferred.
