Position Summary:We're seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to own how our robot is manufactured and scaled - from prototype through volume production. In this role, you will define the manufacturing and DFx strategy across actuators, electromechanical assemblies, and full-robot integration, and develop the processes, tooling, and supplier partnerships that turn our designs into reliable, high-volume hardware. This is a hands-on role for a senior engineer who partners closely with mechanical, electrical, and controls teams to build manufacturability in from the start, and who drives standards, quality, and cost through strong feedback loops.
Core Responsibilities:- Own the strategy to make manufacturability a first-class-citizen from the onset of robot design.
- Own the production roadmap across actuators, electromechanical subassemblies, and full-robot integration.
- Develop, validate, and scale production processes-assembly, fixturing, tooling, and test-from prototype builds through high-volume manufacturing.
- Partner with mechanical, electrical, and controls teams during design to drive manufacturability, cost, yield, and serviceability upstream.
- Lead new product introduction (NPI): process design, line bring-up, pilot builds, and production ramp with internal teams and external partners.
- Qualify and manage contract manufacturers and suppliers, and establish quality standards, acceptance criteria, and first-article inspection.
- Establish manufacturing standards, work instructions, and process controls, and drive yield improvement, cost-down, and throughput through strong feedback loops into engineering.
Required Qualifications:- 8+ years in manufacturing or process engineering, delivering complex electromechanical products from prototype through high-volume production.
- Strong hands-on experience developing assembly, tooling, fixturing, and test processes for precision electromechanical hardware, and applying DFx (DFM/DFA/DFT).
- Proven experience leading NPI and production ramps, including contract-manufacturer and supplier qualification and management.
- Strong command of manufacturing quality and process control-FAI/PPAP, SPC, FMEA, root-cause and CAPA-and yield and cost optimization.
- Ability to read and drive mechanical and electrical designs toward manufacturability, including GD&T, tolerance analysis, BOMs, and drawings.
- Strong systems thinking, technical leadership, communication, and cross-functional influence.
Preferred Qualifications:- Direct experience manufacturing robotic systems, ideally humanoid or manipulation robots.
- Experience manufacturing high-torque-density actuators, precision drivetrains, or motor/gearbox assemblies at volume.
