Job DescriptionSenior Network & Infrastructure EngineerPosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Network & Infrastructure Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of secure cloud and network infrastructure environments. This role combines advanced networking expertise, cloud infrastructure engineering, security best practices, and compliance-focused operations within highly regulated environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Microsoft Azure networking and security services, enterprise network architecture, infrastructure automation, and security compliance frameworks. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership while contributing to the development of secure, scalable, and resilient technology platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead infrastructure engineering initiatives supporting security, compliance, and operational objectives.
- Design, deploy, and maintain secure Azure cloud environments, including networking, segmentation, web application firewalls (WAF), private connectivity, and boundary protection controls.
- Manage enterprise networking technologies, including routing, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, TLS/certificate management, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, data flow diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
- Support infrastructure environments subject to regulatory, security, and compliance requirements.
- Implement and maintain logging, monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions.
- Drive vulnerability remediation, configuration management, patching, and continuous monitoring activities.
- Utilize Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) methodologies and automation tools to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance infrastructure security, availability, and performance.
- Support audits, assessments, and compliance-related initiatives as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, infrastructure engineering, or related disciplines.
- Strong expertise with Microsoft Azure networking and security services, including:
- Azure Front Door
- Web Application Firewall (WAF)
- Private Link
- Virtual Networks (VNets)
- Network Security Groups (NSGs)
- Key Vault
- Experience with network architecture, routing, firewalls, DNS, segmentation, and TLS/certificate management.
- Experience working within regulated or security-focused environments.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and maintain technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting cloud security, compliance, authorization, or audit readiness initiatives.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and controls, including NIST-based standards and continuous monitoring practices.
- Experience supporting government, public sector, identity management, criminal justice, healthcare, financial services, or other highly regulated environments.
- Industry certifications such as:
- Microsoft Azure Security Engineer
- Microsoft Azure Network Engineer
- CISSP
- Security+
- Comparable cloud or security certifications
