Summary

Develops and applies engineering design methods, CAD tools, theories, and techniques in the investigation and solution of technical problems. Remains abreast of the most modern engineering concepts through personal learning initiatives and continuing education programs while applying this knowledge to assigned tasks when appropriate. This position pertains primarily to the Mechanical Engineering segment of flight simulator design/development and is largely project oriented. Task assignments may transcend several projects/programs simultaneously.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with activities of a small to medium scale program.
  • Resolves technical problems and provides technical support to suppliers and manufacturing
  • Participate in installations and final sell off of training devices. Coordinate and review technical/operational deliverables prior to submission to customer
  • Undertakes independent studies, analysis, interpretations, and conclusions
  • Performs product development activities including parametric CAD modeling, drawing creation, and interpretation/implementation of customer specifications and documentation requirements.
  • Teamwork, involving close association with peers, and management is essential to coordinating engineering activities in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • May perform other engineering and non-engineering duties as required by supervisor.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Working toward Bachelor27s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree.
  • Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of Mechanical Engineering
  • Detail oriented.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to solve technical and other business issues in a logical fashion
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Preferred Skills

  • Machine shop experience and familiarity with hand tools
  • Hands on support of manufacturing
  • Experience with Model Based Engineering and GD26T
  • SolidWorks or Creo experience or similar parametric CAD tool
  • Simulation experience

Security Responsibilities

Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment

  • Duties performed in an office environment and manufacturing facility.
  • Must be able to work overtime on and off-shifts as required.
  • The employee is on call 24x7 for the resolution of problems and issues.
