  • Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or 12 years of experience in a senior role creating strategy and designing products.
  • 15 years of experience leading UX teams or design portfolios.
  • Experience managing and growing cross-discipline UX organizations, including senior managers and their teams.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience managing distributed teams and the ability to grow strong teams and leaders.
  • Understanding of roles, methods, processes and best practices for user-centered design.
  • Proven ability to work in a rapidly-changing industry and manage ambiguity while minimizing uncertainty.
  • Prove track record of cross-functional collaboration, partnerships, and leadership within a matrixed organization.
  • Expertise or interest in short-form video and Gen AI creation.


About the job

As the Senior Director, UX, Emerging Experience and Community, you will be responsible for the user experience of YouTube's mobile creation and community experiences - including Shorts, YouTube Create, and formats like Live and Posts. You'll also be responsible for leading the next generation of AI-powered creation tools. In this role, you'll drive a user-centered strategic vision, influence cross-functional partners and hold a high bar for product excellence to deliver experiences for YouTube's viewers and creators.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $323000 - $449000 (USD) 40% bonus target equity benefits
