Job Details

We are seeking a highly strategic, results-oriented, and experienced Chief of Staff, Data and Platform, to serve as a critical partner and strategic advisor to the CMO of the Data and Platform. This unique leadership role is central to driving the strategic execution and operational excellence of our Data and Platform marketing initiatives at Salesforce.

Reporting directly to CMO of the Data and Platform, the Chief of Staff will act as a force multiplier, ensuring seamless coordination, efficient operations, and effective communication across our dynamic and rapidly evolving Data and Platform marketing ecosystem. This role requires a blend of strategic vision, deep marketing operations expertise, and exceptional leadership to translate high-level strategies into tangible results, optimize workflows, and amplify the impact of our Data and Platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Partner with CMO of Data and Platform to define and drive the Data and Platform marketing strategy, translating vision into actionable plans and ensuring meticulous execution across all initiatives.

  • Operational Excellence: Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of marketing operations processes and systems for the Data and Platform, enhancing efficiency, scalability, and data integrity.

  • Cross-Functional Alignment & Collaboration: Serve as a central liaison and orchestrator across Data and Platform marketing teams, product, sales, and other key stakeholders, ensuring alignment, facilitating decision-making, and fostering cohesive execution.

  • V2MOM & Goal Governance: Own the V2MOM (strategic planning framework) process for the Data and Platform marketing organization, driving creation, tracking, and governance to ensure alignment with overarching business objectives.

  • Executive Communications & Presentations: Oversee the preparation of high-impact materials for key internal and external engagements, including executive briefings, QBRs, all-hands meetings, and strategic presentations, ensuring a consistent and compelling narrative for the Data and Platform.

  • Data & Insights Leadership: Collaborate closely with analytics teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs) for Data and Platform marketing, ensure robust reporting, and leverage data to drive continuous optimization and informed decision-making.

  • Project & Program Management: Directly manage and/or oversee critical strategic projects and programs within the Data and Platform marketing organization, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes.

  • Budget Management & Resource Optimization: Partner with Finance to manage the Data and Platform marketing budget, optimize resource allocation, and ensure efficient spend across initiatives.

  • Team Enablement & Resources: Ensure the Data and Platform marketing team has access to the necessary tools, training, and resources to operate effectively and achieve their goals.

  • Amplification of Voice: Support CMO of Data and Platform in articulating and advocating for the Data and Platform vision and strategy internally and externally, helping to shape narratives and craft compelling messages.

  • AI Strategy & Enablement: Champion the team's adoption and evolution of AI-powered marketing practices. Partner with marketing, technology, and operations leaders to define how AI tools are integrated into day-to-day workflows, campaigns, and decision-making — helping set the vision, establish best practices, and build the team's capabilities to work smarter and more creatively with AI.

Experience / Skills Required:

  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in marketing operations, marketing strategy, or a Chief of Staff role within a large, global enterprise technology company.

  • Proven expertise in marketing operations, including a deep understanding of marketing technology stacks, campaign execution, lead management, analytics, and reporting.

  • Demonstrated success in driving strategic initiatives from conception to completion, with a strong focus on measurable business outcomes.

  • Exceptional executive presence and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to represent senior leadership, influence diverse stakeholders, and articulate complex information clearly and concisely.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships across all levels of a matrixed organization, fostering trust and collaboration.

  • Highly analytical and data-driven, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies and optimize performance.
