The Senior Director, Social Strategy & Operations leads People Inc.'s centralized social strategy and operations function, responsible for accelerating audience growth across social platforms, scaling sponsored social capabilities, and building the systems, insights, and organizational infrastructure that drive social performance across the portfolio.

This role oversees a team of social strategy and operations professionals, including strategists and indirect reports, and serves as the primary social strategy partner to editorial, revenue, product, business development, video, TRX, and executive leadership teams. As the company's senior social media leader, the Senior Director defines enterprise social strategy, delivers executive insights that inform business decisions, and represents People Inc. to social platforms, technology partners, and the broader industry.

Hybrid 3x a week- (New York, NY)

In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

About The Positions Contributions:

Strategy & Growth
  • Define and lead People Inc.'s enterprise social growth strategy across platforms.
  • Partner with brands and stakeholders to identify growth opportunities, optimize content performance, and expand off-platform audience acquisition.
  • Lead cross-brand initiatives, experimentation, and platform innovation efforts.
  • Establish social best practices, performance benchmarks, and strategic frameworks across the organization.


Team Leadership
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of social strategists and operations coordinators, including management of managers.
  • Set team priorities, allocate resources, and ensure strategic support is aligned with business goals.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.


Sponsored Social & Revenue Support
  • Own the strategic approach to sponsored social media across the organization.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Ad Solutions teams to align sponsored content with platform best practices and audience insights.
  • Develop scalable workflows and operational processes that improve campaign execution and performance.
  • Identify opportunities to support social revenue growth through data, content strategy, and platform expertise.


Analytics, Operations & Reporting
  • Oversee social reporting, analytics, dashboards, and measurement frameworks.
  • Translate performance data into actionable insights and recommendations for stakeholders across the business.
  • Lead relationships with key social platforms, vendors, and technology partners.
  • Drive operational excellence through process improvements, automation, governance, and tooling.


Executive Leadership
  • Serve as People Inc.'s senior social media strategist and trusted advisor to executive leadership.
  • Deliver executive-level reporting and insights that inform strategic planning, board reporting, shareholder communications, and investment decisions.
  • Develop and communicate a clear point of view on social platform trends, audience behavior, competitive dynamics, opportunities, and risks.
  • Translate complex social performance data into actionable business recommendations that support company growth objectives.
  • Represent the social function in executive planning, cross-functional business initiatives, and organizational decision-making.


Industry Leadership, Platform Partnerships & Vendor Management
  • Serve as People Inc.'s primary representative and strategic point of contact for social platforms, technology partners, and key vendors.
  • Build and maintain senior relationships with platform partners to secure early access to product updates, beta programs, strategic opportunities, and best practices.
  • Monitor platform developments, algorithm changes, industry trends, and emerging technologies, translating insights into actionable guidance for editorial, social, revenue, and business stakeholders.
  • Lead communication and education efforts around platform updates, ensuring teams are informed and equipped to adapt strategies, workflows, and content approaches.
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and oversee relationships with social technology, analytics, publishing, and creator-economy vendors.
  • Represent People Inc. externally at industry events, partner meetings, and strategic platform discussions to advance the company's position as a leader in social media and audience growth.


The Role's Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in social media strategy, audience development, digital media, or a related field.
  • Significant experience leading high-performing teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proven success driving audience growth and business impact through social platforms.
  • Deep expertise in social strategy, analytics, content optimization, and platform ecosystems.
  • Experience supporting sponsored social programs and partnering with commercial organizations.
  • Strong analytical, operational, and executive communication skills.
  • Experience presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership.


% Travel Required (Approximate): 5%

Pay Range
Salary: New York: $135,000.00 - $160,000.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
