Position SummaryReporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Enrollment and working in close collaboration with the Senior Director of Enrollment Management, the Senior Director of Student Recruitment serves as the strategic and operational leader of undergraduate and graduate student recruitment by providing leadership in pursuing the university's ambitious strategic enrollment goals.
The Senior Director of Student Recruitment holds leadership over all aspects of prospective student recruitment, including on-campus, off-campus, and virtual engagement. The Senior Director will be a highly motivated individual with strong business development, organizational, and interpersonal skills, who is passionate about growing enrollment and ensuring a smooth admissions pathway for prospective students.
This is a full-time exempt position on our beautiful 52-acre campus in Laurel, MD, on the Baltimore Washington parkway.
Responsibilities- Lead student recruitment operations including the following areas:
- Identifying and cultivating new recruitment targets including high schools, community colleges, professional associations, and other external organizations
- Undergraduate recruitment and territory management
- Graduate recruitment
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Enrollment Management to ensure efficient and smooth admissions pathway for prospective students;
- Recruit, develop, and retain a business-minded and service-oriented recruitment team, cultivating a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence;
- Travel to domestic recruitment targets including high schools, community colleges, and other strategically identified organizations and associations;
- Develop and execute comprehensive, data-driven recruitment plans to increase enrollment and attract a diverse applicant pool;
- Work with various teams and faculty members to identify and foster partnerships with national and global college access organizations;
- Lead recruitment training for staff and faculty;
- Collaborate with the Marketing department to align collateral with recruitment strategies;
- Track and analyze recruitment metrics and trends to report directly to the VPAAE;
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications- Master's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Possess at least 10 years of experience in leading and developing teams;
- Demonstrated experience building and executing student enrollment strategies;
- Possess proficiency with CRM and SIS (Jenzabar and Salesforce is preferred);
- Exhibit an ability to perform administrative duties with speed and accuracy;
- Possess the ability to develop successful partnerships with internal and external stakeholders;
- Possess excellent business development and management skills;
- Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship;
- Must be able to travel and work nights and weekends as needed;
- This position requires up to 60% domestic travel to visit regional recruitment target sites and events.
Salary RangeThe salary for this position typically ranges from $95,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
