Full Job Description
Title: Sr Director of Finance & Business Development

Compensation: $150,000-$200,000

Location: Rockville, MD

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and bonuses

Work Environment
  • Hybrid schedule with 4 days per week in office
  • Remote flexibility available periodically based on business needs and travel schedules
  • Travel is required for this position

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team responsible for financial modeling, investment analysis, post-investment reviews, and capital expenditure reporting.
  • Evaluate and support strategic growth and development opportunities across key business segments.
  • Partner with senior leadership on business case development and investment committee presentations.
  • Participate in negotiations with external partners and stakeholders on high-impact development initiatives.
  • Oversee post-investment performance reviews and ensure key insights are incorporated into future decision-making processes.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities, including capital and operating expense planning.
  • Provide oversight for project funding requests and investment authorization processes.
  • Maintain visibility into the organization's development and investment pipeline and provide regular updates to leadership.

Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate development, or investment analysis
  • Strong leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to coach and develop teams
  • Advanced financial modeling and business case development expertise
  • Experience evaluating investments using methodologies such as:
    • Net Present Value
    • Internal Rate of Return
    • Cost-benefit analysis

Preferred Background
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience
  • Experience supporting capital-intensive growth, development, or expansion initiatives
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
