How you'll make an impact in this role- Serve as the primary medication safety subject matter expert and Chair of the Medication Safety Expert Review Panel (ERP), leading health-system-wide safety initiatives, strategic planning, budgeting, and policy development.
- Analyze medication-use errors, adverse drug reactions, and continuous quality improvement (CQI) data to design and implement high-leverage error-reduction strategies, specifically targeting drug shortages, look-alike sound-alike (LASA) risks, and drug diversion.
- Oversee the technical integration, installation, and optimization of pharmacy information systems and automation technologies to enhance system-wide medication safety workflows.
- Ensure total adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws and regulatory standards while driving High-Reliability Organization (HRO) principles to foster an open culture of safety and transparent communication.
- Partner with internal safety committees, interdisciplinary leadership, and external regulatory bodies-including the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) and the FDA MedWatch program-to align on industry best practices.
What minimum requirements you'll needLicensure / Certification / Registration:
- Pharmacist obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy required.
- Master's degree preferred.
Work Experience:
- 5 years of experience required.
- 10 years of experience preferred.
- 2 years of leadership or management experience required.
- 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
What additional preferences we're seeking- Hospital Pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
- Hospital Pharmacy Residency experience preferred.
