Full Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:

Code 11 is hiring a Sr. Director of Flag Football to lead our flag football division and help shape its growth from the ground up. We're looking for a growth-focused leader with experience in youth and high school football, along with the recruiting process of women's flag football and/or football to help drive our owned and operated football event brands and properties - including Elite 11 Quarterbacks and The Opening. This person is comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment, helping build a strategy for growth, and being a key player on initiatives that include; sponsorship and advertising sales, strategic partnerships, registration-based revenue generation, event operations, marketing via social media and other operational elements. The ideal candidate is growth-minded, fast-acting and has experience in the grassroots space.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

You'll report to our Head of Football with a primary focus on building and shaping Code 11's flag football brands' growth strategy. You'll be involved heavily in the day-to-day of all of Code 11's major event initiatives, including multi platform audience targeting, event activations and new inventory creation. You'll play a critical role in operationalizing our go forward digital strategy for multiple lines of business. In addition, you will work closely with our team to help make decisions on where we should invest our resources next.

Our perfect hire for this role is a creative, growth-oriented leader who will serve Code 11, our event participants and partners via:

  • Sport Expert (Flag Football) - Direct team responsible for authenticity of football across events
    • Oversee football player database that generates content and organizes and streamlines player personnel efforts
    • Responsible for overseeing all flag football player personnel at events. Utilize football relationships and knowledge to identify and solicit athletes to attend events via phone, email, social networking, etc.
    • Lead in decision-making on event format, schedules, etc. based on balancing client requests and personal expertise in flag football
    • Assist in all flag football business development
  • Leadership & Team Development - Serve as the senior leader and public face of Code 11's flag football division.
    • Set the vision, annual operating plan, goals, and budget for the flag football division, and report on performance to the Head of Football and executive team.
    • Build, lead, and mentor a team of event staff, coaches, and contractors, setting clear expectations, KPIs, and accountability.
    • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Studio, Marketing, and Operations to align priorities, resources, and timelines.
    • Represent Code 11 with partners, governing bodies, leagues, and at industry events and conferences.
  • Business Development - Help drive new revenue through various sponsorships, advertising and strategic partnerships, including video and data from events.
    • Direct and coordinate all flag football sales and marketing functions.
    • Collaborate with outside sales team to develop and coordinate the sales cycle and methodology.
    • Organize internal ideation process as it pertains to new sales development initiatives.
    • Oversee the development of custom sales packages to present to clients.
    • Directly manage major and critical developing client accounts, and coordinate the management of all other accounts.
  • Business Unit Growth - Execute the growth strategy for the flag football business.
    • Work with the management team and execute a plan to build the football business through new and existing streams of revenue, including premium events, new event platforms, sponsorships and other strategic partnership opportunities.
    • Work with new and existing partners to create collaboration opportunities with the goal of driving incremental revenue.
    • Utilize football knowledge and network of contacts to gather information across platforms.
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence - Maintain a deep understanding of the flag football landscape and Code 11's position within it.
    • Identify and track competitors, including national leagues, tournament and showcase operators, camps, and recruiting services, monitoring their events, pricing, partnerships, and athlete offerings.
    • Deliver regular competitive and market analyses to leadership with recommendations on positioning, pricing, and differentiation.
    • Monitor industry trends, governing body developments, and participation data to identify emerging opportunities and threats.
  • Account Servicing - Work directly with internal account managers to ensure the team is exceeding expectations with a focus on client satisfaction, contract renewals and up-sell opportunities.
  • Digital Content - Work closely w/ the Director of Studio to ensure the flag football brand o/o channels are creating and distributing original content to grow our audience & increase engagement, while delivering on all contracted and agreed upon content for partners.
  • Event Operations -
    • Directly involved in planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects of flag football events, ensuring smooth operations, client satisfaction, and compliance with safety and budgetary requirements
    • Willingness and ability to assist in other Code 11 sport category events when requested
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel will be required


What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months:
  • A clear strategic roadmap, budget, and KPI framework for the flag football vertical, approved by leadership
  • A core team and a national network of coaches and evaluators in place to staff and promote events
  • A successful slate of flag football events delivered safely, on budget, and with strong participant satisfaction
  • New sponsorship, partnership, and registration revenue secured against agreed targets
  • A documented competitive landscape and a pipeline of new revenue opportunities for the following year


REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's, a plus) or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience within the football or flag football space from youth to collegiate to the professional ranks
  • Experience growing large-scale events, tournaments and camps
  • Experience launching or scaling a new business line, league, or event series (startup or 0-to-1 experience a plus)
  • Working knowledge of youth sports safeguarding, risk management, and event compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with high school and collegiate flag football governance and recruiting rules
  • Proven leadership experience building, managing, and developing high-performing teams
  • Track record of launching new events, products, or revenue streams and meeting revenue targets
  • Experience owning a budget or P&L
  • Strong knowledge of the flag football landscape, including key leagues, event operators, governing bodies, and competitors
  • A demonstrated personal network of coaches, organizers, and leaders within the football and flag football industry
  • Knowledge of and strong interest in event operations, scouting & player development
  • Detailed knowledge of football technology is a plus
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time
  • Self-motivated mindset, strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient client and participant facing communication skills, both oral and written, with experience in communicating to audiences with varying levels of technical understanding
  • Dedication to high quality and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to travel, work evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs and events
