Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Senior Director of Finance Transformation, Process Improvement, Compliance, and Optimization to lead key initiatives that strengthen financial governance, elevate process efficiency, modernize systems and data, and enhance performance across finance. This role partners closely with the CFO, finance leadership, and key stakeholders across enterprise functions and operations to develop and execute a multi-year transformation roadmap that leverages technology, automation, and best practices to improve processes, systems, data, and governance throughout the enterprise.

 

Responsibilities

Governance, Compliance, and Process Quality

  • Establish and maintain efficient, sustainable financial processes while ensuring consistent collaboration across finance teams.
  • Ensure adherence to established processes, controls, and governance standards and embed best practices across the organization.
  • Develop governance frameworks and performance metrics that promote accountability, consistency, and continuous improvement.

Finance Transformation & Strategic Improvement

  • Develop and execute a multi-year finance transformation roadmap aligned with broader organizational strategy and focused on value creation.
  • Lead the end-to-end strategy, planning, and execution of enterprise-wide finance transformation initiatives.
  • Assess current-state processes, systems, legacy platforms, data, and organizational structures to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and integration challenges.
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvement initiatives that streamline operations, enhance scalability, and improve business performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement and modernization initiatives, including financial system automation, data governance, reporting enhancements, and workflow optimization.
  • Support transformation initiatives associated with M&A-driven growth, including process integration, legacy system consolidation, and data harmonization.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management

  • Develop and support a broader finance engagement program in partnership with the CFO and finance leadership.
  • Establish stakeholder management strategies to secure alignment, buy-in, and support for transformation initiatives.
  • Partner closely with Finance, Contracts, IT, HR, Operations, and other enterprise leaders to harmonize processes and ensure alignment and adoption of new tools and standards.
  • Lead effective change management efforts and address resistance to change through strong communication, relationship-building, and collaboration.
  • Manage diverse stakeholder groups across end-to-end enterprise processes and initiatives.

Program Leadership & Execution

  • Coordinate and oversee day-to-day activities across project phases, including scope definition, dependency management, resource allocation, and milestone tracking.
  • Oversee cross-functional project teams, external consultants, and technology vendors.
  • Track and report on initiative progress, risks, mitigation plans, and measurable outcomes.
  • Regularly review transformation KPIs and program performance with leadership and adapt strategies as business priorities evolve.
  • Ensure transparency, accountability, and measurable impact across transformation initiatives.

Process Optimization & Documentation

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for financial processes, transformation initiatives, governance frameworks, and improvement projects.
  • Deliver training and guidance to ensure successful adoption of process, technology, and organizational improvements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain alignment and support for optimization initiatives.
  • Promote standardization, automation, data integrity, and continuous improvement across finance operations.

Technology, AI & Industry Insights

  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies and incorporate relevant enhancements into Peraton’s processes and systems.
  • Evaluate emerging AI-enabled technologies and identify practical opportunities to automate repetitive tasks, improve productivity, synthesize information, enhance communication, and accelerate problem solving.
  • Validate AI-generated outputs, understand technology limitations and risks, and incorporate AI responsibly while maintaining appropriate human judgment and accountability.
  • Leverage advanced digital technologies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, data integrity, decision-making, and operational effectiveness.
  • Prepare clear reports and presentations to communicate transformation strategies, status updates, performance outcomes, and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Monitor and analyze process effectiveness to verify that initiatives meet organizational objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, or a related field (required).
  • 18 years of applicable professional experience in finance, accounting, process improvement, or related fields.
  • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Deltek T&E, Hyperion, Cognos, and Workday.
  • Highly self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
  • US Citizenship.
Target Salary Range$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
