Full Job Description
The Opportunity

Reporting into the Vice President, Commercial Operations, the Senior Director, Commercial Training & Development is a highly visible, enterprise-level leadership role responsible for defining and driving all training needs to support U.S. commercialization and global expansion. Senior Director will serve as the strategic owner of the training and readiness function of our customer-facing teams (field and/or home office).

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a flexible customer engagement training model that supports multiple field-based teams and serves as the scalable foundation for ongoing training needs across the commercial organization
  • Build comprehensive and compelling training curricula across disease state, product, customer engagement, launch readiness, compliance, and role-specific competencies (e.g., manage care organization / field reimbursement account teams, patient services teams, thought leader liaison teams, sales management) for a rare endocrine condition or similarly specialized therapeutic area
  • Manage external training vendors and agency partners to develop high-quality, scientifically accurate, compliant, and engaging training content aligned to commercial strategy and field execution needs
  • Partner seamlessly with Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Compliance, and other field leaders to ensure training content is strategically aligned, medically accurate, compliant, operationally relevant, and reflects the authentic experience of our HCP and community stakeholders
  • Partner with analytics teams to measure the impact of training curricula and implementation
  • Manage meeting/planning vendor resources for all field meetings, including product launch meetings, field POA meetings, annual NSM, etc.
  • Experience establishing training infrastructure, processes, governance, measurement approaches, and continuous improvement practices to support a 2027 product launch and future commercial growth

Required Qualifications
  • Significant experience and success leading customer-facing commercial training and development teams, ideally in rare disease, specialty, or complex launch environments
  • Strong understanding of how to translate brand strategy, medical insights, market access priorities, and customer needs into practical training programs that improve field readiness and customer engagement effectiveness
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, or MBA) preferred
  • 12-15+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech customer-facing training, with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Exceptional communication and executive presence
  • Strong vendor management, budget oversight, and project management skills
  • High degree of initiative, curiosity, and comfort with ambiguity in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Work Location and Conditions
  • At Amylyx, we proudly support remote work opportunities within the United States. However, due to business considerations related to health insurance coverage and state tax regulations, we are unable to hire employees who reside and/or work in certain states. Currently, we are not considering applicants from Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Michigan and Tennessee.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who reside in the New England region and can be in person on an as needed basis.
  • If outside of the New England region, you will be expected to travel to our corporate location in Cambridge, MA several times a year and attend other company-related events as necessary and requested, which may include travel by air, driving or public transportation.
  • When working remotely, you must have access to a work setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at your remote location.

The pay range posted below represents our good faith estimate of compensation for this role, based on market data and internal benchmarks. The final offer may vary depending on a candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as considerations of internal equity.
