Senior Director, Business Development - SeeAll Marketing Alliance

New York City (4 days in-office, Fridays remote)

About Membership
The Membership team is at the forefront of the ANA, focused on member retention and acquisition. As part of the ANA's transformation, this role plays a critical function in building the SeeAll Marketing Alliance (SAMA) exclusive membership base and translating its unified value proposition into a compelling market narrative
We work together with our team and internal partners to provide the best service to our members and push the ANA forward. We know the ANA inside and out, understanding how we fulfill our mission of driving growth for individuals, brands, the marketing industry, and humanity through the ANA Growth Agenda, bold leadership initiatives, and a robust suite of products and services.

Role Overview
As our membership base continues to grow, we are seeking an ambitious and energetic Business Development Senior Director to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Head of Membership, Business Development, this role will drive sustainable growth, all while forging strong relationships with CMOs, marketing leaders, and teams of the world's premier brands leading them to an ANA membership leveraging resources, tools, and connections. This role will lead the growth of SAMA by driving new member acquisition, shaping how SAMA is positioned in the market, and ensuring alignment between market messaging and member experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the entire sales cycle: prospecting, pitching, negotiations, and closing of a strategic SAMA membership growth pipeline aligned to priority segments and enterprise value.
  • Activate a network of new and existing relationships to generate and expand relationships within advertisers and their marketing partners including agencies, media, AdTech, research, and marketing leadership communities to build SAMA membership scale and influence.
  • Refine and communicate a clear, unified SAMA value proposition, addressing market confusion and positioning SAMA as a growth platform.
  • Apply data, insights, AI automation, and CRM intelligence to enhance partner value propositions, strengthen revenue forecasting and decision-making, identify high-value potential prospects and connect at scale, optimize conversion, and refine targeting strategies.
  • Partner closely with internal teams especially Member Experience & Retention to ensure seamless transition from acquisition to onboarding.
  • Achieve SAMA membership growth including acquisition quality and lifetime value measurable monthly, quarterly, annual targets.
  • Lead with emotional intelligence, resilience, and ability to perform under high pressure and ambitious targets
  • Research new business opportunities across all industries, digging deeper into their marketing teams and structures to identify key contacts
  • Remain updated on ANA's offerings, industry knowledge and best practices
  • Adhere to ANA's vetting process for new member acquisitions (eligibility, requirements, approval, etc.)
  • Stay closely attuned to trends across the marketing industry while monitoring the competitive landscape
  • Produce regular reports on sales activity, conversion rates, KPIs, and acquisition and revenue forecasts
  • Continuously update and maintain accurate records of prospective members
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual membership sales targets
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the Head of Business Development
  • Travel as required to meet with members and prospects

Professional Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and strong sales and marketing background with ability to develop solid relationships with C-Suite and marketing leaders (minimum 5 -7 years)
  • Experience building membership or subscription growth models preferred
  • Knowledgeable with multicultural and inclusive marketing and its ecosystem
  • Influence & Relationship Building - Builds trust-based C-Suite relationships and navigates complex stakeholder landscapes

Salary and Total Rewards Package:
Starting pay range: $120,000 to $130,000, based on relevant experience and qualifications.
