As part of the Wealth Digital Transformation team the Senior Digital Product Owner has passion and drive to enhance the best in class experience our clients receive across our digital platforms which encompass client journeys of investing, managing and monitoring their wealth and planning for the future. We work with multiple business lines to build a single, unified web platform for Canadian Wealth Management ensuring cross functionality.

Understanding the current wealth management and brokerage digital market and bringing in new ideas, competitive views and concepts to drive excellent client journeys and experiences is key to your success in this role.

The Senior Digital Product Owner assumes end-to-end ownership for various digital products by leading cross-functional teams to conceptualize, define and implement new features. Leveraging their ability to organize and motivate teams, they will work with our Wealth business partners, other key stakeholders, UX researchers & designer and software developers to translate customer journey directives into actionable backlog deliverables and follow through to completion. You will be responsible to execute and drive the digital strategy roadmap ensuring we are maintaining a competitive platform.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • You create/maintain a detailed prioritized product backlog
  • Develop a vision and roadmaps for your backlog and product
  • Establish a close relationship with business stakeholders to ensure their requirements are translated into the right digital technology products
  • Work with engineering and product design teams to determine feasible technical solutions and reasonable implementation timelines
  • Engage day-to-day with the Agile teams writing and clarifying user stories, participating in delivery planning and reviews, backlog grooming and prioritization
  • Facilitate problem solving as required, working closely with design and development on implementation challenges
  • Work with support teams when there are client or system issues that require business input, investigation assistance or a development change to be made
  • Engage with analytics teams to establish, measure and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for new features
  • Manage engagement with bank stakeholders and effectively communicate product release contents and expected product capabilities/customer journey
  • Understand and keep up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends and innovative solutions being implemented across the industry
  • Maintain an understanding of the wealth industry, stock trading, and trends in digital banking


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Industry designations an asset (e.g. CFA, CSC, etc.)
  • Experience in brokerage, trading, or wealth management an asset
  • 6+ years of previous work experience in product management, business analysis or in a related field
  • Experience working on transactional web and mobile products, preferably in the consumer space is a plus
  • Excellent project delivery skills, with proven accomplishments leading cross-functional projects
  • Strong problem solver with ability to lead the team to push the solution and progress
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Curious and experimental mindset to drive innovation amidst uncertainty
  • Proven ability to take initiative within a large organization to build strong relationships based on outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to engage and influence stakeholders at different levels in the organizations
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts in easy-to-understand terminology to diverse audiences
  • Experience with Agile methodologies preferably Kanban
  • An understanding of mobile-first design principles is a plus
  • Able to apply knowledge of how a product is designed, built, deployed, and maintained in an enterprise environment
