Senior Developer, NYX Cosmetics, Operations Development, Consumer Products Division, L'Oreal Operations - El Segundo, CAWe are seeking a
Senior Developer to join our NYX Professional Makeup Development team in our El Segundo, California office. In this role, you will play a crucial operational and technical role focusing on non-launch compliance, including regulatory conformance, reformulations, catalog maintenance, disengagements, and L'Oréal for the Future (L4TF) sustainability initiatives. You will also provide launch support as needed gaining experience in new product development. Acting as a key partner to Global Business teams, Operations, and R&I, you will ensure our existing and new product portfolios align with the highest standards of quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and sustainability.
A Day in the Life:- Non-Launch Compliance & Regulatory Conformance: Coordinate the implementation of all required legal, regulatory, and safety updates to base catalog formulas and packaging artwork. Manage technical compliance across existing product lines.
- Artwork Update and Compliance: Support C&A team with TAG brief set-ups for non-launch projects. Track and communicate status in consolidated reports and share out to cross functional teams.
- Reformulations & Harmonization: Partner with Marketing, Product Development, Operations, and R&I on catalog harmonization, cost feasibility, and reformulation initiatives to ensure continuous compliance and supply chain continuity.
- Disengagements & Catalog Evolution: Manage key evolutions and phase-outs (disengagements) within the brand catalogue, minimizing service gaps and managing timelines efficiently.
- L'Oréal for the Future (L4TF) & Sustainability: Support sustainability packaging projects, tracking metrics and driving initiatives that align with L'Oréal's corporate environmental commitments. Partner with Marketing and Packaging on L4TF Roadmap creation and implementation.
- Launch Support & Project Management: Provide project management and development support for new product launches as needed, tracking timelines, milestones, and technical documentation via internal systems (e.g., MINDS).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Drive risk assessment and mitigation plans with cross-functional partners to resolve roadblocks impacting compliance, timelines, or packaging components.
We Are Looking For:- Education: A completed Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or a related engineering/technical discipline is required
- Experience:
- 2-5+ years of experience in in package development, product development, regulatory operations, or project management within the cosmetics or consumer goods industry
- Experience in cosmetics, consumer goods, or related field is preferred
- Strong understanding of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and regulatory/compliance frameworks.
- Excellent project management skills, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to influence and build relationships effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Project, Teams) and familiarity with project management and packaging specification systems (e.g., SAP, MINDS, etc.).
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis is required. No immigration support/sponsorship offered for this role.
- The ability to be onsite, in the office at least 3 days a week, as this is an essential function of the position (required)

- Base Salary Range: $77,400 - $110,300 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
