Neuberger is seeking a Senior Developer to join our Equities Technology team.

You will be a senior member of the team working and collaborating with stakeholders. The individual will be responsible for building and scaling applications for portfolio managers and research analysts.

You will translate business problems into technology solutions, build investment workflows, develop well-architected solutions, partner with fellow engineers, and teams across the larger organization. You'll take ownership from design through build, release, and production support, with a focus on AI, data modeling, and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to architect and deliver solutions, translating business needs into technology solutions.
  • Design, develop, and enhance applications that support trading, portfolio management, and analytics for equities investment teams.
  • Work across the full software development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
  • Develop high-quality, efficient, maintainable code
  • Implement unit, integration, and data tests; apply test-drive development where appropriate.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues; improve performance, reliability, and observability.
  • Partner with engineers, product owners, and investment teams to translate requirements into solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain technical documentation (APIs, designs, architecture).
  • Use AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to enhance productivity, while maintaining strong independent coding and debugging skills.
  • Support live platforms: triage issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and measure the success of implemented solutions, using data-driven insights to iterate and improve the platform.
  • Prioritize backlogs and manage releases across the SDLC with modern DevOps practices.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5-10 years of professional software development experience, in a full stack role in the financial industry.
  • Proficiency with at least one language: Python, C++, or Java.
  • Strong data fluency: data modeling concepts, SQL, ETL pipelines, market data, and streaming pipelines.
  • Exposure to generative AI/agentic frameworks and their practical application in research and investment workflows is a plus (prompt engineering, RAG, orchestration, evaluation).
  • Familiarity with portfolio management workflows (e.g., idea generation, research management, PM workflows, portfolio construction, performance & attribution, risk, compliance) and how data flows across them.
  • Experience with buy-side tools such as order management systems and familiarity with the full trade life-cycle.
  • Experience with Cloud and containerized applications on Kubernetes/OpenShift.
  • Familiarity with databases such as Snowflake and MS SQL Server, data integrity concepts, and ability to optimize performance.
  • Knowledge of Git or similar source control systems.
  • Experience with modern SDLC and DevOps and best practices (agile practices, CI/CD, testing strategies, observability).

Preferred / Nice to Have
  • Experience in financial services, capital markets, or fintech.
  • In-depth understanding of equities markets, financial instruments (stocks, ETFs, derivatives), and investment workflows.
  • Familiar with front-office, middle-office and back-office systems on the buy-side.

What We Offer
  • Opportunity to work on impactful projects that directly support investment decision-making
  • Collaborative, intellectually stimulating environment with experienced engineers and investment professionals
  • Exposure to cutting-edge technology and financial markets
  • Professional development and learning opportunities
