Senior Developer 4100 Beechwood Dr, Greensboro, NC 27410 GROFF Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 8:00am - 5:00pm OVERVIEW: Working as Full-time Senior Developer, you will be part of an enterprise platform development team that designs and develops latest generation IoT applications. You will be involved in the software development life cycle and large enterprise applications. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: o Analyzing, designing and developing new applications, features and enhancements o Enhancing the software platform in the areas of business logic processes, distributed transactions, session management, database and network connections and overall system performance o Debugging the software and implementing bug fixes o Participating in code review processes and mentoring entry-level developers in software design best practices o Applying best-practice security principles to enterprise software applications o Acting as a liaison with Business Analysts to ensure capabilities are aligned with business requirements o Acting as a liaison with the Quality Assurance team to develop testing approaches REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: o Possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Math, Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial Science OR a related degree o Possess 2 years of software development experience in Java/Object Oriented Programming o Create technical specifications, architecture diagrams, network diagrams, data models, object diagrams, process flows and application development artifacts o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills o Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented o Work independently as well as in a team environment o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork o Pass the required drug screen and background check (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: o Prior development experience with Java including OOD, design patterns, data modeling, session management, serialization, persistence, XML, JSON, RESTful Web Services, Microservices and other related Java EE technologies o Prior experience with relational databases, JDBC and ORM frameworks for Java (e.g. Hibernate) o Prior experience in JavaScript, Ajax, HTML, CSS Web programming and efficient web front end designs o Prior experience with application servers, e.g. WebSphere, JBoss, WebLogic, Tomcat FULL-TIME BENEFITS: Fastenal offers a competitive benefits package to all full-time employees.
