Job Summary:

The Integrated Components Division (ICD) Global Cab Team is seeking a candidate to join our multidisciplined organization to support development of cab systems and components for Resource Industries Operations and Products (RIOP) division. Cab Systems include development of multiple sub-systems including structures (ROPS, FOPS), seating (seats, suspensions), HVAC (heating, cooling, pressurization, filtration), controls (ergonomics, HMI), visibility (doors, windows, wipers), and trim (non-metallics). The ideal candidate will collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, resolve complex interface issues with sound engineering judgment, and maintain momentum by communicating requirements, risks, and solutions with precision. You'll foster a proactive, quality driven approach within the team, helping colleagues stay aligned, informed, and focused on delivering robust, integrated design outcomes.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead the design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of complex products, systems, and components while ensuring alignment with quality, performance, cost, and reliability objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to develop innovative engineering solutions and successfully execute product development initiatives.
  • Apply advanced engineering principles and sound technical judgment to resolve complex design challenges and drive effective decision-making.
  • Develop, review, and approve engineering designs, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation in support of new product development and product improvement efforts.
  • Lead technical investigations, root cause analyses, and problem-solving activities to address product, manufacturing, or field performance issues.
  • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to support project objectives, timelines, and business goals.
  • Communicate technical requirements, project status, risks, and recommendations to diverse stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and product teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineers and project team members while promoting collaboration and engineering excellence.
  • Support product validation activities and ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and company processes.


Education requirement:

Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.

Analytical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex technical challenges, analyze data, identify root causes, and develop practical engineering solutions that support product performance, quality, and project objectives.

Effective Communications: Strong ability to communicate technical concepts, requirements, risks, and recommendations to diverse stakeholders, including engineering teams, suppliers, manufacturing partners, and business leaders.

Managing Multiple Priorities: Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and changing business needs while maintaining quality, meeting deadlines, and supporting program objectives.

Technical Excellence: Advanced technical knowledge of engineering principles, design practices, and product development processes, with the ability to apply sound engineering judgment to complex problems and drive innovative solutions.

Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Working knowledge of CAD and engineering tools used to create, analyze, review, and optimize designs, drawings, models, and technical documentation throughout the product development lifecycle.

Product Design and Development: Demonstrated success leading products and components through the design and development process, including concept creation, design validation, continuous improvement, and implementation of engineering solutions.

Product Design - MFG: Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, production methods, and design-for-manufacturing principles, with the ability to develop solutions that improve manufacturability, quality, cost, and operational efficiency.

Top Candidates will also have:
  • Extensive experience collaborating globally with multiple teams and business units.
  • Proficiency in CREO Simulate or other CAE tools.
  • Detailed Knowledge of New Technology Introduction (NTI) and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
  • Experience in Concurrent Product and Process Development (CPPD) with manufacturers or suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability.


Additional Information:

This position requires the candidate to work onsite five days a week at the Mossville, IL office.

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
