Full Job Description
The Senior Database Administrator is primary responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of the organization's database environment. This role takes a broader view of standards, scalability, and automation. You'll also spend your time mentoring more junior database administrators on database management practices and assisting other team members in the areas of data analysis, data conversion, data cleansing, report writing and generation, as well as electronic forms mapping. What You Will Do:
  • Monitor, manage and maintain the organization's database technologies with the goals of providing a secure, reliable, efficient, flexible and user-friendly data storage and reporting environment
  • Collaborate with teams internal and external to the department, to provide database architecture and design improvements, ensuring scalability, performance, availability and integrity of databases and related technologies.
  • Drive automation of production data updates or reporting to ensure consistent high quality and efficient data storage and extraction processes
  • Ensure the credit union's data environment is highly available, reliable, secure, and meets or exceeds business and/or regulatory requirements
  • Identify, recommend and implement best practices for maintaining and enhancing the overall usefulness, integrity, and security of database architecture
  • Guide and mentor Database Administrators on database management methodology, performance, troubleshooting, standards and best practices
  • Deliver solutions that solve business needs and requirements
  • Communicate and live out the CFCU mission statement, core values, and core purpose
  • Maintain the confidentiality of member, employee, and CFCU information

We're looking for a combination of:
  • Bachelor's Degree in an information technology-related degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will always be considered.
  • 10+ years of database management experience
  • Database Administration certifications desired
  • Strong database design, development, management and SQL knowledge
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of both Microsoft SQL and Oracle Platforms are desirable
  • Ability to work in direct, professional, contact with a wide variety of staff daily
  • Ability to travel locally and work irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays if needed
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and accurately work under pressure to meet the needs of CFCU
