What You DoAs a Senior Data Scientist you will leverage Calm's consumer data to help prioritize product and growth investments, identify opportunities to improve acquisition, conversion, engagement, retention, and subscriber growth, and automate analyses and data products for key decision-makers. In this role, you will partner across product and growth marketing to turn ambiguous business questions into clear analyses, experimentation plans, and actionable recommendations. You will use data to understand user behavior, measure the impact of product and marketing initiatives, and help teams make better decisions faster. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy diving into new domains, building business intuition, and balancing statistical rigor with practical decision-making.
You Will:
- Collaborate with stakeholders across product and growth marketing to analyze and communicate how trends in key metrics affect business performance
- Partner with product teams to perform deep-dive analysis to understand user engagement behavior
- Design, implement and analyze experiments to measure the impact of new features on core product metrics
- Collaborate with partners across technical and non-technical teams to bridge the gap between data and action
- Help key-decision makers stay informed about the state of the business through internal data products built in tools like Amplitude, Tableau and Mode
- Develop strong cross-functional partnerships across Calm to drive our team's success
Who You Are- Strong proficiency in SQL
- Comfortable manipulating data with Python or R
- BA/BS in quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience with designing, analyzing, and interpreting experiments
- Ability to translate non-technical business requirements into technical solutions, and translate technical solutions into business outcomes
- Strong relationship management and presentation skills
- Pragmatic and impact-oriented, with the ability to balance scrappiness and rigor
Nice to Haves- Experience working on digital consumer products or subscription businesses
- Experience supporting product analytics, experimentation, user acquisition, lifecycle marketing, or retention
- Experience with causal inference, incrementality testing, attribution, or marketing measurement
- Experience working with product analytics and BI tools such as Amplitude, Tableau, and Mode
- Experience building scalable analyses, reporting, or measurement frameworks that enable self-service decision-making

Calm uses a geographic pay model that determines salaries based on the location where an employee lives. For this position, the base pay range across Calm's pay tiers is as follows: $172,200 - $225,000. The base pay range represents the low and high end of Calm's salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications. Calm uses employee zip code to determine which pay range applies. This role is also eligible for equity + comprehensive benefits + 401k + flexible time off.
