Full Job Description
Overview

The Senior Professional, Data Product Management is an individual contributor role focused on handling the day-to-day operational questions and tasks related to Epsilon's data products. This role serves as the primary point of contact for common data questions, ensuring internal teams can quickly understand data availability, meaning, structure, and refresh cadence.

The Senior Professional is responsible for answering routine data questions, validating expected data behavior, and maintaining accurate documentation across datasets. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the data, values clarity and correctness, and wants to build strong foundational knowledge of how data systems operate in a production environment. This role is execution-focused and operational in nature, with an emphasis on speed, accuracy, and consistency.

Responsibilities

Data Operations & Enablement (Primary Focus)
  • Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day data questions, including:
    • Has this data been updated?
    • What does this field or attribute mean?
    • What table or dataset does this data live in?
    • How often is this data source refreshed?
  • Validate that data is present, current, and behaving as expected across Epsilon platforms
  • Check data refresh schedules, pipelines, and outputs to confirm expected updates
  • Implement established data checks, processes, and workflows to support ongoing data operations
  • Raise unexpected behavior, missing data, or unclear definitions to Senior Analysts with clear context

Documentation & Knowledge Management
  • Maintain and update dataset documentation so common data questions can be answered quickly and consistently
  • Ensure documentation clearly defines field meanings, refresh cadence, data location, and known limitations
  • Update existing documentation as data sources evolve or new questions emerge
  • Use recurring questions as signals for where documentation or reference materials need improvement
  • Support internal training and enablement efforts by helping maintain walkthroughs and reference materials

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work with Data Engineering and Data Warehouse teams to confirm data availability, refresh timing, and table structure
  • Partner with Senior Analysts and Client Teams to support data validation and operational needs
  • Communicate clearly when data is behaving as expected versus when escalation is required
  • Learn how upstream data changes impact downstream platforms and client use cases

Growth & Development (Over Time)
  • Build deep familiarity with Epsilon's datasets, tables, and refresh schedules
  • Take ownership of answering a defined set of recurring data questions or data sources
  • Improve speed, accuracy, and consistency in responding to data requests
  • Develop toward more complex validation and support work under guidance from Senior Analysts

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience working with data in a professional environment, including analytics, data operations, reporting, or similar roles
  • Experience querying and working with data using SQL (or equivalent) to answer questions, validate results, and perform basic analysis (Postgres and Databricks preferred but not required)
  • Exposure to backend data systems such as data warehouses, data pipelines, or relational databases, with an understanding of where data comes from, how it is structured, and how downstream impacts take shape based on upstream changes
  • Experience receiving routine or ad-hoc data questions and independently determining how to answer them using available data
  • Familiarity with working in environments where data accuracy, correctness, and reliability are important, and where results are expected to be reproducible
  • Interest in learning about data governance, data privacy, and working with sensitive or pseudonymized data
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
