The "Macro Industries - SFS TPD" data team supports Sustainable Finance Solutions (SFS) Third Party Data. SFS Third Party Data leverages knowledge of financial markets, clients' needs, and data engineering to design pipelines that support high-quality content. Our focus is on acquiring, processing, validating, and storing environmental, social, and governance data using open source, third party, and proprietary technology. We're constantly using data-driven decision-making to create better, more efficient systems to handle the huge variety of data we acquire and deliver to our clients. We have strong working relationships with teams across Data, Engineering, CTO, and others, and utilize this network to achieve results. There are many growth opportunities within the team.

The Role:

A Data Management Professional (DMP) is a key role within our organization responsible for optimizing our data for clients and improving our data operations. They act as technical leaders: setting the strategy for data products, developing interconnected data models, designing data schemas and pipelines, and ensuring data integrity. They are expected to be problem solvers, effective communicators, and able to balance technical expertise with a product-focused approach. This role encompasses various specialty areas, including statistical analysis and data visualization, data engineering, product ownership, data modeling and data quality. It requires a solid background in data management.

We'll trust you to:

  • Design and implement data workflows, integrating structured and unstructured datasets while maintaining robust quality controls
  • Develop database schemas and ETL processes to efficiently onboard and process new datasets
  • Analyze metadata and internal processes to identify and implement innovative improvements
  • Establish data governance standards and best practices, including business rules for programmatic data validation based on market conventions
  • Build comprehensive data quality monitoring and reporting systems using statistical analysis and visualization techniques
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to develop and execute client-focused data strategies
  • Mentor technical team members and promote best practices across the organization


You'll need to have:

  • A BA/BS degree or higher in STEM or relevant data technology field, or equivalent professional work experience in software development
  • 4+ years of professional experience programming and scripting in Python production environments
  • 4+ years of experience working with databases, either SQL or NoSQL
  • Understanding and experience with data modeling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining sophisticated technical concepts to different stakeholders

Salary Range = 110,000 - 190,000 USD Annual + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
