Synopsis of the role

The Senior Data Governance Policy Analyst will support the ongoing development and implementation of Equifax's Data Governance program. The position will focus on policy development, support the data stewardship organization, reduce risk for Equifax's mission critical data, and operate the Data Governance Committee and Council. This Data Governance role will ensure correct management and utilization of Equifax's core data assets. This is an exciting opportunity to drive activities that will empower innovation, revenue growth, and increased efficiency through effective management of our data assets.

What you'll do
  • Research and develop best in class policies and provide thought leadership to the organization and create enterprise/global programs.
  • Develop and maintain data policies and standards to support program objectives; implement Data Governance processes/procedures and assume responsibility for them
  • Ensure appropriate and consistent practices are applied across data assets; support requirements related to legal, security, privacy, and compliance aspects of data (PCI-DSS, data classification, contractual requirements, regulatory compliance, etc.).
  • Support the acceptable data usage program to assess applications, products, and processes and provide options and alternatives for data use requests. Perform compliance audits for Data Governance policies, and support other audits including Data Governance components.
  • Serve as a subject matter Expert to present complex business challenges and programs to senior managers and COE leadership.
  • Accountable for CDO KPI management
  • Accountable for CDO communications to the broader organization, senior leadership and COE leadership.
  • May lead a small team (mentor and develop junior staff), develop and execute long-term plans for complex projects.
  • Represent D&A in large-scale projects to improve data quality or address strategic data changes.

What experience you need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer/Management Information Systems, Information Management, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Governance within a Data Warehouse/Management environment focused on intensive data usage; in-depth understanding and application of Data Governance principles across the data lifecycle.
  • 5+ years of experience with Data Governance tools such as Informatica, Talend, Alteryx, etc.; Collibra preferred.
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and manage multiple projects; issue management experience with both internal teams and 3rd party partners/providers.

  • Consumer Credit or Financial Services industry experience.
  • Experience with data security, regulatory compliance, data privacy, and contracts is highly valued.
  • Data quality and metadata management experience.
  • Demonstrated partnering skills, plus excellent verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical partners, with a focus on informing, influencing and relationship building.
