As a member of our Data team, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of software for systems that power Skip’s Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse. Your experience with cloud technologies and big data provides you with the background to quickly implement changes. Your experience in data management and SQL allows you to contribute to the expanding expertise of the team and keep data components current as product
features change. Your expertise in data modelling for maintaining gold layer standards (Single sources of truth) and your ability to communicate with stakeholders both technical and non-technical alike on our data products.
Experience:3+ years experience in developing big data pipelines, data warehouses, and/or software engineering
Strong hands-on experience with Python , SQL.
Experience working with multiple cloud platforms preferably Google Cloud Platform.
Data Modeling and Transformation: Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using SQL . You will be a key developer on our DBT(data build tool) project, creating modular, tested, and documented data models using SQL and Jinja. Your primary focus will be on transforming data within the data warehouse to create clean, well-structured datasets for a variety of use cases, including reporting, analysis, and machine learning.
Strong in Dimensional Modeling concepts applying Kimball techniques.
Data Quality and Governance: Implement and champion data quality, integrity, and governance throughout the data lifecycle. You will be responsible for building quality assurance checks, documenting data processes, and ensuring observability for anomaly detection.
Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, data analysts, product managers, and software engineers to understand their data requirements and ensure data solutions meet business needs. You will be a key thought partner to the business, helping to define product features based on your knowledge of the underlying data.
Applying Engineering Principles: Use software engineering best practices such as version control (Git), modularity, and CI/CD principles to ensure our analytics codebase is maintainable, scalable, and reliable.
Problem-Solving: Investigate and resolve data-related issues, proactively identifying patterns and trends to prevent future problems. You are a natural problem-solver who thrives on complex challenges.
Compensation range: $99,600.00 - $136,900.00
Final compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
