As a Critical Facilities Engineer V, you will be a key technical expert responsible for the reliability and performance of mission-critical infrastructure. You'll operate with a high level of independence, applying advanced judgment to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve systems that support continuous operations.
In this role, you'll not only execute complex maintenance and incident response activities, but also identify risks, recommend solutions, and contribute to infrastructure improvements that enhance overall facility performance.
What You'll DoAdvanced Facility Operations & Maintenance- Perform complex preventative and corrective maintenance across critical systems, including electrical, mechanical, cooling, and fire/life-safety infrastructure
- Diagnose and resolve advanced system issues, independently determining the best course of action
- Monitor building systems and respond to alarms, assessing impact and driving effective resolution
- Evaluate system performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and uptime
- Apply deep knowledge of operating procedures while recommending enhancements where needed
Vendor Oversight & Technical Leadership- Lead and coordinate vendor activities for maintenance and infrastructure work, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance
- Oversee the full lifecycle of maintenance activities, including planning, execution, and post-work review
- Support development and refinement of maintenance procedures, scripts, and technical documentation
- Ensure system documentation and equipment records are accurate and up to date
Incident Response & Problem Solving- Serve as a key responder for critical incidents, working to quickly stabilize and resolve system issues
- Lead or support root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Identify single points of failure and proactively recommend mitigation strategies
- Provide guidance and support to on-site teams during complex or high-impact incidents
Infrastructure Projects & Improvements- Lead or significantly contribute to infrastructure upgrades, lifecycle replacements, and complex facility projects
- Execute modifications to electrical, mechanical, and specialized systems with a focus on reliability and performance
- Recommend and help drive improvements to systems, processes, and operational standards
- Support planning and execution of critical maintenance and capital projects
Collaboration, Mentorship & Influence- Partner across teams to resolve complex technical challenges and maintain operational continuity
- Act as a mentor and resource for less experienced engineers and technicians
- Communicate system risks, performance insights, and recommendations to stakeholders
- Support inventory planning and ensure availability of critical spare parts
What We're Looking For- 3+ years of experience in critical facilities, data centers, or a similar mission-critical environment
- High School Diploma or equivalent (technical certifications, trade school, or military experience highly valued)
- Strong expertise in one or more areas: electrical systems, HVAC/cooling systems, mechanical systems, or building automation systems
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues and make sound decisions with limited guidance
- Experience coordinating vendors or supporting infrastructure projects
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including on-call or emergency response as needed

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
United States - AT4 Atlanta : 70,000 - 105,000 USD / Annual
