As a senior data analyst focused on data visualization, you'll drive the adoption of data visualization technology at one of the world's leading investment firms. This includes a full suite of data platforms based our modern data stack.
Together, these systems empower data scientists, data analysts, quant developers, and business partners make more informed and higher-quality decisions, both within the firm and across Blackstone's portfolio companies. Given the breadth and scale of Blackstone's investments, and the large role that data analytics and data systems play in key business processes, this is a truly unique opportunity.
As a senior member of the team with focus on Private Wealth business unit, you will have an opportunity for your work to have a significant impact from day one. You will work alongside data engineers, data scientists, data analysts, and investment professionals on unique challenges. The ideal candidate needs to be comfortable leveraging governed methods, iterating quickly, communicating effectively, and delivering high quality data products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess high level analytics goals, refine requirements, and build scalable data solutions
- Refine and drive adoption of data visualization best practices throughout the firm
- Develop and enrich relationships with data leads across Blackstone
- Facilitate Proof-of-concept (POC) engagements, draft business designs (requirements), and establish project-specific resourcing plans.
- Draft, manage and constantly improve all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to data visualization, including Tableau server access control, site administration, content curation, etc.
- Participate in bi-weekly sprint planning meetings and daily standups
- Optimize/troubleshoot data products for maximum performance and scalability.
- Conduct project reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development practices.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of data visualization/analytics experience preferred on platforms such as Tableau, Sigma, Power BI, Looker, etc.
- Experience working within complex systems and large data sets via SQL or Python
- Entrepreneurial attitude and experience in quickly adapting to new technologies
- Player/coach mentality with desire to mentor junior members and adjacent teams
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Articulate communicator in engaging technical staff and business partners
• Bachelor's degree or higher in STEM or quantitative discipline preferred
Preferred Skills:
- Wealth management market data exposure including MMD, Discovery, DST, FINTRX, and more
- Full spectrum experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, dbt, Sigma, Alation).
- Proficient with ETL platforms such as Fivetran and Prefect
- Hands on experience with data lineage and observability platforms
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management tools (JIRA, Trello).

Expected annual base salary range:
$160,000 - $225,000
Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone's sole discretion.
