Reports to: Manager, Accounting

Location: Chicago, IL

This role will be performed onsite in the Chicago office.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Corporate Accountant will execute day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities for AJCP's management and brand companies, including general ledger accounting, monthly close processes, and consolidated financial reporting. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting, operational discipline, and scalable accounting processes across a growing organization.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and lender reporting packages in coordination with the broader corporate accounting team
  • Support accounting analyses and transaction recording in accordance with GAAP, including application of revenue recognition guidance under ASC 606
  • Develop a strong understanding of key business and operational agreements, including debt agreements, management agreements, and licensing agreements, and ensure compliance with related accounting and reporting requirements
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of financial information
  • Support the annual audit process by preparing schedules, coordinating documentation requests, and assisting with auditor inquiries
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting workflows to support the continued growth and scalability of the organization
  • Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and variance analyses to maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting
  • Own assigned balance sheet accounts and related reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items and accuracy of supporting documentation
  • Contribute to special projects, ad hoc analyses, and process improvement initiatives as needed

Required

  • Big 4 public accounting experience
  • Experience within private equity, real estate, or other complex multi-entity environments
  • Prior experience in a high-growth or evolving business environment
  • CPA license or active progress toward CPA certification

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensations, or range thereof, for roles that will be performed in Illinois. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of AJCP's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $75,000-$90,000. Other rewards may include annual bonuses. In addition, we provide a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off.
