Overview

Each and every team member plays a vital role in our success. We are rapidly expanding and looking for a professional, self-motivated individual to fill the role of Senior Corporate Accountant.

Responsibilities

The Senior Corporate Accountantwill have a background in both public and private accounting and possesses the ability to hit the ground running in all areas related to Month-end close, Financial statement preparation and analytics.

  • Prepare month-end closing journal entries and analyses for assigned accounts
  • Review general ledger account activity and prepare month-end closing journal entries and analyses for assigned accounts.

  • Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

  • Research and correct account discrepancies.

  • Work effectively with other teams, such as Accounts Payable, Payroll, FP&A, and Operations in order to prepare closing entries and to anticipate changes to processes.

  • Help lead the implementation of best practices to simplify, standardize and scale our accounting processes.

  • Analyze complex financial reports and records.

  • Perform variance analyses including identifying trends and researching material variances.

  • Assist in the interim and annual audits by providing supporting schedules, working with other departments within the company to gather data and answers accounting questions by researching and interpreting data.

  • Prepare financial statement footnotes for bank reporting.

  • Assist in documentation of accounting process and internal controls.

  • Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments.

  • Other responsibilities will include participation in system implementations, special projects, ad hoc analyses.

    • Maintain and promote workplace safety
    • Securing and transferring cash or other assets.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years experience; preferably mix of Public and Private
  • CPA or CPA eligible
  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort handling extremely large data volume
  • Advanced experience in building schedules, processes, reconciliations and flux analysis.
  • Proven ability to succeed in a fast paced and constantly changing environment while managing to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture.
  • Be a team player and willing to jump in to assist colleagues when needed
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Excel skills required
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of AS/400 and Sage a plus
