Senior Controls Engineer with at least 5-7+ years of relevant experience in industrial automation and controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both Allen Bradley and Siemens control platforms, including PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and common HMI systems. This role involves working on large-scale, team-based projects across various industries, with a focus on delivering quality solutions on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, program, and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, and others) for industrial automation systems.
- Configure and commission Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), including both Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms.
- Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale controls and automation projects.
- Provide onsite and remote support during project installation and commissioning phases.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables with minimal supervision.
- Identify and resolve complex system issues, demonstrating excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and company quality protocols.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients and internal teams.
Position Requirements- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation and controls.
- Proficiency in Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs and VFDs.
- Strong knowledge of common HMIs such as FactoryTalk, WinCC, and others.
- Ability to read and understand complex electrical schematics.
- Proven experience working collaboratively on large, team-based projects.
- Overhead crane controls experience is a strong plus.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30-40% of the time.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with a self-starter mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
