Position Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Senior Controls Engineer with at least 5-7+ years of relevant experience in industrial automation and controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both Allen Bradley and Siemens control platforms, including PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and common HMI systems. This role involves working on large-scale, team-based projects across various industries, with a focus on delivering quality solutions on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, program, and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, and others) for industrial automation systems.
  • Configure and commission Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), including both Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms.
  • Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale controls and automation projects.
  • Provide onsite and remote support during project installation and commissioning phases.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables with minimal supervision.
  • Identify and resolve complex system issues, demonstrating excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and company quality protocols.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients and internal teams.


Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation and controls.
  • Proficiency in Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs and VFDs.
  • Strong knowledge of common HMIs such as FactoryTalk, WinCC, and others.
  • Ability to read and understand complex electrical schematics.
  • Proven experience working collaboratively on large, team-based projects.
  • Overhead crane controls experience is a strong plus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30-40% of the time.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with a self-starter mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
