Full Job Description
RVA is looking to hire a Senior Contract Administrator to support municipal wastewater infrastructure construction projects. The work will involve a range of assignments, including road reconstruction, land development, water distribution, sanitary and storm sewer pipelines, and water resources projects. Responsibilities • Collaborate with the project team, client, and contractor to resolve technical issues in the field. • Review submittals, as-built records, and asset management documents to support commissioning and project turnover. • Oversee quality control, performance, and compliance with applicable codes and standards. • Coordinate site inspections, provide project progress updates, process payment applications, and respond to RFIs and submittals. • Prepare RFQs, Change Directives, and Site Instructions. • Assist with change order discussions and help resolve delays and claims. • Attend and document construction and commissioning meetings on site. • Coordinate testing and commissioning activities, including process equipment. • Serve as RVA's Onsite Safety Officer. • Certify contractor payments and administer statutory holdbacks in accordance with the Construction Act. • Maintain QA/QC records and ensure compliance with Client quality requirements. • Work with stakeholders and support risk, schedule, and cost management efforts. • Assist with dispute resolution and claims management. Qualifications • 6+ years of contract administration experience in a field-based role, preferably on municipal water or wastewater infrastructure projects. • Certified or eligible for certification as a C.E.T. and membership in OACETT, or a bachelor's degree in engineering with P.Eng. registration in Ontario or eligibility within 12 months. • Valid driver's licence and access to a personal vehicle. • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, including mobilization, shop drawing review, construction, startup, commissioning, and closeout. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. • Strong teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills under pressure. • Proficient computer skills. • Experience supervising construction related to vertical infrastructure such as concrete structures, buildings, process equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and I&C work. • Experience commissioning process equipment. • Solid knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
