What you'll be doingAs part of CIBC's Total Rewards team, you'll help shape programs that reinforce our culture, strengthen team engagement, and support business performance. As a Senior Consultant, Total Rewards and Recognition, you'll provide strategic consultation to business and functional leaders on recognition and total rewards solutions that are competitive, practical, and aligned with business priorities. You'll work closely with senior leaders and Human Resources partners to assess current programs, identify opportunities for improvement, and support the design and implementation of enterprise-wide strategies, frameworks, and processes. You'll also lead analysis to evaluate market competitiveness, internal alignment, and regulatory considerations across total rewards programs, using insights to inform recommendations and decision-making. Through strong partnerships, external market awareness, and a focus on continuous improvement, you'll help deliver programs that attract, retain, and recognize top talent across CIBC.

How you'll succeed- Strategic consulting - Partner with business and functional leaders to understand priorities, performance needs, and recognition objectives, and provide advice on total rewards solutions that align with business goals.
- Program design and implementation - Support the development, enhancement, and implementation of compensation, total rewards, and recognition programs, policies, and procedures to ensure they are market competitive, internally equitable, cost effective, and aligned with CIBC's objectives.
- Analysis and insights - Conduct market and internal analysis to assess the effectiveness and competitiveness of total rewards programs, identify gaps, and recommend changes that support talent attraction, retention, and engagement.
- Governance and regulatory compliance - Support compensation governance requirements by helping ensure programs comply with applicable regulatory requirements, supporting monitoring and reporting activities, and maintaining policies, procedures, and documentation. Ensure all compensation and rewards programs comply with applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., global regulations such as OSFI, CSSF, SEC), and support ongoing monitoring, reporting, and remediation activities as needed. Liaise with external regulators and auditors on matters related to compensation practices. Monitor regulatory changes and proactively adjust programs to ensure ongoing compliance. Support the develop and maintain compensation policies, procedures, and documentation, as required. Maintains "currency" in professional and specialized compensation knowledge, practices, principles and technologies to be able to evaluate the impact of introducing new methods or products. Networks with senior professional contacts both within and outside CIBC
- Collaboration and partnership - Work closely with Human Resources partners, senior leaders, change management and communications teams, external providers, and control partners to deliver effective total rewards and recognition tools, processes, and initiatives.
- Continuous improvement and market intelligence - Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness within total rewards processes, stay current on market trends and regulatory developments, and recommend practical enhancements to strengthen delivery and impact.
Who you are- You have relevant experience. You bring 5+ years of experience in total rewards, compensation, recognition, or a related Human Resources discipline. Experience in financial services is strongly preferred.
