We are seeking an experienced, DC-based consulting professional with a background in management consulting planning, strategy, program delivery, or related advisory services, especially for asset-intensive infrastructure clients. Ideally, the candidate will have a broad, integrative skillset across asset management, digital strategy, organizational change, people and capability development, and business transformation; and the ambition to help grow a strategic regional management consulting practice. This role will be based in Arup's Washington, DC, office.
The role will focus on providing strategic, operational, organizational, capability development, and programmatic guidance to asset-intensive clients, with an initial emphasis on supporting our water and transport portfolio and expanding related opportunities across the Washington, DC, area. As part of a regional team, you will have the opportunity to support projects across the United States and Canada. You will work with public agencies and infrastructure organizations to clarify priorities, strengthen delivery models, improve performance, support capital and asset management decision-making, enable change, develop high-performing teams, and connect business needs with practical digital and operational solutions. The position is expected to combine direct client delivery with regional business development, internal coordination across Arup's multidisciplinary platform, and relationship-building that reinforces Arup's long-term commitment to the DC market and beyond.
The Opportunity
3 Serve as a key DC-based advisory resource for current regional water and transportation clients, supporting continuity of client relationships and project delivery.
3 Collaborate with clients to understand business challenges, organizational priorities, operational constraints, and long-term infrastructure objectives.
3 Lead or support strategic advisory, asset management, digital strategy, change management, people/team development, and program/project management engagements for water utilities and other asset-intensive organizations.
3 Bridge across multiple Arup service areas to develop integrated solutions that combine management consulting, technical advisory, digital, operational, and organizational expertise.
3 Prepare and deliver insightful presentations to clients, conveying complex information effectively.
3 Engage in client and stakeholder interface activities such as meetings, presentations, and workshops.
3 Work collaboratively within Arup's organization, proactively leveraging multidisciplinary technical expertise, internal networks, and available resources to deliver high-quality advice and implementation support.
3 Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of implemented solutions, making data-driven adjustments as necessary.
3 Manage multiple client engagements at any given time, balancing project delivery and business development priorities through disciplined use of internal and external resources.
3 Build trusted client relationships through curiosity, collaborative problem solving, sound judgment, and a partnership-oriented consulting style.
3 Grow and cultivate client relationships across water, transportation, and other infrastructure markets, including leading or supporting work-winning activities, proposal efforts, market engagement, and collaboration with regional business development leaders.
3 Develop and maintain strong internal and external networks that support client continuity, regional growth, and access to Arup's broader advisory and technical capabilities.
3 Act as a mentor, engaged/supportive team member and supervisor to other team members.

3 Proven consulting, strategic planning, and client advisory skills, with the ability to translate complex operational, organizational, technical, and financial issues into practical recommendations and implementable delivery plans.
3 Experience working in a consulting environment on transformation, change management, operational improvement, digital enablement, or complex program delivery assignments.
