What you'll be doing
As a Senior Information Security Consultant on the Exposure Platforms team, you will play a key hands-on role in maintaining and advancing CIBC's exposure management ecosystem. You will focus on ensuring the reliability, integrity, and operational health of exposure management tools, data pipelines, and application-layer integrations that power the Cyber Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) program. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help strengthen the accuracy and actionability of exposure signals, troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges, and actively contribute to the evolution of exposure management capabilities at CIBC.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
- Platform Health & Operational Support: You will take a proactive, hands-on approach to keeping exposure management platforms running reliably. This includes maintaining scanning coverage, ensuring authentication stability, and supporting seamless data ingestion across environments. You will investigate and resolve application-level issues, close coverage gaps, and address integration weaknesses before they impact exposure visibility.
- Scanning Coverage & Discovery: You will build and maintain integrations across asset, identity, cloud, and network data sources, ensuring broad and accurate coverage. You will implement and refine discovery approaches — including agent-based, network-based, and hybrid scanning models — to maximize coverage effectiveness and keep pace with an evolving environment.
- Data Quality & Reliability: You will take ownership of the accuracy and consistency of exposure data that feeds into risk, remediation, and governance workflows. You will investigate data anomalies, eliminate duplication, and close blind spots to ensure that exposure signals remain trustworthy and actionable. When data quality issues arise that could affect risk decisions, you will surface and escalate them promptly.
- Technical Collaboration & Enablement: You will work closely with security, cloud, technology, and risk teams to align platform activities with CTEM program goals. You will bring technical depth to cross-functional discussions, contribute to platform roadmap planning, and help translate strategic objectives into practical, executable solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: You will actively look for opportunities to improve platform performance, operational processes, and data reliability. You will contribute ideas and technical input to roadmap and strategy discussions, helping shape the next generation of exposure management capabilities.
- You bring deep technical experience. You have 5 or more years of hands-on experience in platform operations, security operations, or a closely related technical field. You have strong working knowledge of exposure management platforms, vulnerability scanning technologies, authentication mechanisms, integration patterns, and data ingestion pipelines. You are comfortable operating independently in complex technical environments and have a track record of keeping enterprise platforms reliable and well-governed.
- You are self-driven and eager to make an impact. You don't wait to be told what to do — you take initiative, anticipate challenges, and proactively seek out opportunities to add value. You bring energy and enthusiasm to your work, and you're motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference. Whether it's identifying a gap, proposing a solution, or diving into a complex problem, you show up ready to contribute and get things done.
- You have moderate networking and telecom skills, which are required for this role. You possess a working understanding of networking protocols, telecommunications infrastructure, and network architecture, and can apply this knowledge to support scanning coverage, diagnose connectivity issues, and help ensure reliable data flows across complex, distributed environments.
- You have at least 5 years of experience in AI and automation, and this skill set is essential for this role. You bring hands-on experience with automation and AI-driven solutions, including scripting or programming in Python, or similar languages, as well as practical experience with AI and automation platforms such as Power Automate, Copilot Studio , or equivalent tools. You have a strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts and a proven ability to apply AI-powered tools to improve platform capabilities, accelerate analysis, and build more efficient operational processes within a security context.
- You are a strong collaborator. You build effective working relationships across teams and domains. You communicate technical findings clearly — whether you're working with engineers, security analysts, or business stakeholders — and you know how to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- You look beyond the moment. You know what you do will make a difference today and tomorrow. You look for new opportunities to define what'spossible.
