Senior Consultant
Strategy & Business Architecture - Capital & Private Markets Practice

Electric Mind's Capital Markets Practice helps clients reimagine their operating models, data architectures, and control environments across the trade lifecycle. We partner with leading institutions to modernize their front-to-back value chain, drive operational efficiency, and enable regulatory and market-driven transformation.

About the role

The Senior Consultant is a leadership-track delivery professional within Electric Mind's Capital & Private Markets practice. You will lead transformation workstreams independently, design target-state operating models and business architectures, and serve as the primary client-facing expert on your engagement. You bring deep capital and/or private markets domain expertise - at this level, domain knowledge is not developed on the job, it is the foundation from which you advise clients. You will mentor junior team members, contribute to business development, and operate as a visible, credible voice of Electric Mind in client organizations.

What You Will Do

    • Leads transformation workstreams independently
    • Designs and owns operating model and TOM artefacts end-to-end
    • Designs complete business architecture frameworks
    • Leads and designs workshops with 20+ senior stakeholders
    • Recognised domain expert; mentors Consultants
    • Trusted advisor relationship with Director/VP-level clients

    Transformation Leadership
    • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder transformation workstreams from inception through delivery, maintaining full accountability for scope, quality, and timeline
    • Design target-state operating models (TOMs) for capital markets operations or private markets fund servicing, covering people, process, data, and technology dimensions
    • Conduct business architecture assessments: current-state analysis, capability mapping, and gap identification across front-to-back operational value chains
    • Own the production of senior-level deliverables: operating model blueprints, business architecture artefacts, transformation roadmaps, and executive briefing papers

    Client Advisory
    • Act as the primary day-to-day client contact on engagements; build trusted advisor relationships with Directors, VPs, and Heads of Operations
    • Facilitate complex, multi-disciplinary workshops (design thinking, future state definition, vendor selection) with 20+ participants across client functions
    • Present findings and recommendations at senior client forums, steering committees, and board-level briefings when required

    Business Development
    • Contribute substantively to proposal development: scoping, solution design, pricing assumptions, and writing of proposal sections
    • Identify and qualify organic growth opportunities within existing client accounts; introduce additional Electric Mind capabilities where appropriate
    • Represent Electric Mind externally at industry events, roundtables, and client networking forums to build the practice's market profile

    Team Leadership & Development
    • Mentor and quality-review the work of Consultants and Associates on the engagement team
    • Set the quality standard for workstream deliverables and hold junior team members accountable to it
    • Contribute to Electric Mind's methodology and intellectual capital through playbooks, reusable frameworks, and published thought leadership

    What Outstanding Looks Like
    • Client stakeholders request you by name for subsequent engagements
    • Operates comfortably without day-to-day oversight from a Director; escalates judiciously
    • Produces TOM and business architecture outputs that become the definitive design reference for client transformation programs

What You Will Bring - Capital & Private Markets Experience

Candidates should possess strong domain expertise in capital markets and/or private markets gained through direct industry experience, consulting engagements, or transformation programs. At the Senior Consultant level, individuals are expected to move beyond understanding concepts and demonstrate the ability to apply industry knowledge to client challenges, evaluate solution options, and provide informed recommendations.

Preferred experience includes:
  • Deep understanding of capital markets and/or private markets operating models, including trade lifecycle processes, post-trade operations, fund structures, investor servicing, fund administration, risk management, and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience supporting or delivering business, operational, regulatory, data, or technology transformation initiatives within financial services organizations.
  • Ability to assess and design target operating models, business processes, controls, governance frameworks, and service delivery models, including outsourced and third-party provider arrangements.
  • Familiarity with industry technology ecosystems and platforms, including trading, portfolio management, post-trade, fund administration, investor servicing, workflow, and data management solutions, with the ability to evaluate solution options and implementation trade-offs.
  • Strong understanding of data management, reference data, governance, operational risk, and reporting requirements, and the role these capabilities play in supporting scalable business operations.
  • Awareness of key industry regulations, market structure changes, and emerging trends-including automation, AI, digital assets, and distributed ledger technologies-and their impact on business and operating models.
  • Ability to lead client discussions, challenge assumptions, evaluate alternatives, and translate domain expertise into practical recommendations and delivery outcomes.

Candidates should be capable of operating as trusted advisors within their workstreams, bringing industry context, structured thinking, and practical experience to client engagements. Domain expertise will be assessed through scenario-based discussions, problem-solving exercises, and examples from prior experience.
