About the Role

We seek a Senior Construction Manager to provide construction management support services to our valued client's data center practice. 3 to 7 years' construction experience is required. The Senior Construction Manager's main responsibility is to monitor and report on design, bidding, cost, and scheduling events with 100% transparency. Escalation of risk is the number one priority. The client should never be removed from the equation. Decisions involving schedule, cost, safety, coordination, and design shall be made by the client and the A/E team. General responsibilities include:

  • Provide transparent and unmanaged communications, escalating risks and issues that require mitigation and/or resolution.
  • Creates and manages customer change orders in compliance with lease requirements, to include seeking necessary bids, compiling data into customer forms, and coordinating necessary approvals both internal and external.
  • Create purchase orders for customer changes for:
    • Data hall whitespace design (customer)
    • Data hall whitespace OFCI (owner-furnished, contractor-installed)
    • Data hall whitespace construction
    • Security design
    • Security OFCI (owner-furnished, contractor-installed)
    • Security construction
    • Commissioning whitespace and security
  • Attend customer calls related to design changes and design coordination calls, and track design progress against need-by dates to ensure decisions are reached in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure project schedule is tracking to contractual dates using schedule program tools.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Design, Finance, Security, Supply Chain, Commissioning and Operations to ensure our projects are delivered through the Compass Program.
  • In coordination with the customer, manage the vendor bid process through the General Contractor using the Compass standard for bid solicitations, RFP package development, and bid proposal analysis.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 7 years' construction experience is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction, project management, or a related field. This requirement may be waived with five or more years of direct, vertical construction industry experience.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize your time to meet deadlines.
  • Strong ability to communicate-verbally and written-clearly, concisely and logically.
  • Proven track record on speaking up when you encounter any potential roadblocks.
  • Passion for the role you play in keeping the project details on track.

The pay range for this role is:

85,000 - 120,000 USD per year (Dallas, TX)
