We're searching for a Senior Construction Design Manager to join our Buildings Division in Ontario - a rapidly expanding region with some of the most exciting, technically demanding and high profile construction projects in the country.

Your Role in Building What Matters - From Office to Site
  • Lead the Design Management: Provide strategic direction, set expectations, and oversee the entire design process in all phases from project pursuit through to successful project delivery.
  • Drive Cross Functional Leadership: Serve as a key bridge between design, construction, consultants, and project stakeholders - ensuring alignment, accountability, and effective communication. You will interface with our in-house construction execution team, MEIT, Estimating, BIM / VDC Quality, HSE, Scheduling, Risk Management, Commercial, and Project Management.
  • Build, Develop & Mentor a High Performing Team: Coach, empower and continue to build the Construction Design Management Team fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and proactive issue resolution.
  • Technical Coordination & Constructability: Navigate complex project requirements, identifying and addressing design challenges early, and ensuring information is construction ready. Serve as the primary client-facing leader for all design-related matters, building strong relationships, leading meetings and workshops, managing expectations, and ensuring seamless communication between the client, consultants, and construction teams.
  • Maintain Quality, Standards & Governance: Champion document quality, oversee design reviews and audits, and ensure technical compliance through all phases, including Engineering Services During Construction (ESDC).
  • Strategic Decision Making: Provide insight and leadership on risk management, sequencing, cost efficiency, and design impacts to enable informed project decisions.


The Right Tools for the Job
  • Education: Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or similar preferred. LEED, PMP, or P.Eng. designations are strong assets
  • Experience: 10+ years in construction management, design management, or project deliveryDemonstrated leadership on complex, technical building projects. Strong background in Design Build or Integrated Project Delivery environments
  • Leadership & Management Strengths: Proven ability to lead teams, set priorities, and drive performance. Skilled at coaching, motivating, and influencing across disciplines. Strong communicator who creates clarity and alignment in complex environments.


Compensation
  • $160,000 - $200,000 base salary
  • Compensation aligned to education and experience, ensuring fair and competitive placement
