As the organization continues to strengthen its Business Risk & Control function, we are seeking a
Senior Compliance Advisor to support parts of Client Operations & Business Enablement (COBE) and central business units. Reporting to the Director, Compliance, you will provide business-focused compliance advice and effective challenge on regulatory requirements, business practices, and change initiatives. You will work closely with business partners, Legal, and second-line oversight functions to help identify and address compliance risks, support sound decision-making, and strengthen regulatory compliance across the organization.
What you will do- Advise aligned business units on applicable legal, regulatory, and corporate compliance requirements and their practical application to business activities.
- Assess regulatory developments and business changes, identify compliance impacts, and define clear requirements, accountabilities, and implementation considerations.
- Lead regulatory change and issue-management activities, including gap assessments, remediation planning, implementation oversight, evidence collection, and status reporting.
- Design, implement, and maintain compliance programs, controls, policies, procedures, and supporting documentation aligned with the Business Risk & Control Framework.
- Plan and execute risk-based compliance monitoring and testing, document findings, and oversee corrective actions through completion.
- Prepare concise compliance metrics, dashboards, and decision-ready reporting for governance committees, risk forums, and senior leaders.
- Respond to compliance inquiries and collaborate with business partners, Legal, second-line oversight functions, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and clarify ownership.
- Maintain accurate regulatory trackers, implementation plans, governance records, and audit-ready evidence repositories.
- Contribute to enterprise and cross-functional initiatives that strengthen governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance practices.
What you will bring- Five or more years of experience in a compliance, regulatory, or risk role within financial services.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance practices relevant to the business areas supported.
- Experience with regulatory change, compliance advisory services, monitoring or testing, issue management, or governance reporting.
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships, provide effective challenge, and clarify ownership across multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to assess complex regulatory information, identify business impacts, and translate requirements into practical actions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare concise materials and explain compliance expectations to varied audiences.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and reporting deadlines.
- Post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience supporting insurance, wealth management, investment, or financial services operations.
- Knowledge of applicable Canadian federal and provincial regulators and regulatory frameworks, including requirements administered by OSFI, CIRO, OSC, or other relevant authorities.
- Experience using compliance, governance, risk, issue-management, or regulatory-change tools.
- A relevant compliance, risk, legal, audit, or financial-services designation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including the ability to develop clear reports and presentations.
The base salary for this position is between
$75,500 - $125,500 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
