Full Job Description
Job Purpose

Lead the design, administration, and continuous improvement of Rise Baking Company's compensation and benefits programs, ensuring pay structures, incentive plans, and health and welfare benefits are market-competitive, internally equitable, and compliant. Serve as the lead resource on compensation and benefits matters, advising HR leadership and people managers on pay decisions and program design and translating market data into actionable recommendations to the Director of Total Rewards.

Essential Functions

• Compensation Program Design & Administration

o Manage the design and administration of the annual compensation cycle, including salary structure design and maintenance, market pricing, merit planning, incentive administration, pay equity analyses, and compensation program effectiveness reviews

o Design, communicate, and maintain pay structures, job families, salary grades, and job architecture/leveling frameworks; support various compensation projects and initiatives

o Benchmark annual compensation budgets, merit matrices, and off-cycle adjustment guidelines to enterprise strategies

o Leverage AI-enabled tools and automation to improve the efficiency and accuracy of analysis and reporting

o Advise managers and partner with HR on pay decisions for new hires, promotions, transfers, and equity adjustments

o Support the design and administration of the companywide short-term incentive plan, sales incentive plan, and other variable pay plans

o Own and manage enterprise-wide compensation market data, compensation systems, and annual compensation programs, including leading the annual market review process, participating in salary surveys, analyzing market trends and competitive positioning, and recommending salary structure and employee pay adjustments

o Conduct job evaluation and market pricing, matching jobs to survey benchmarks and recommending range/grade placement aligned to best practices, enterprise goals, and governance

o Perform pay equity analyses and audits and recommend affirmative actions where warranted

o Research and report on compensation trends, labor market conditions, and legislative developments

o Ensure compensation and benefits programs comply with FLSA, ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal wage and hour and pay transparency laws

o Maintain documentation standards for job descriptions, pay decisions, and plan administration

o Partner with Legal and Compliance on regulatory changes affecting compensation and benefits

o Partner with HRIS to ensure data integrity for job codes, pay structures, benefit elections, dashboards, supporting technology implementations, and reporting for HR leadership

• US and Canada Benefits Administration & Support

o Support the US and Canadian health and welfare, retirement, and work/life benefit programs to meet cyclical goals that increase engagement in plans and programs

o Manage project plans for annual open enrollment, plan renewals, and relationships with brokers, carriers, and vendors

o Partner with vendors and internal resources to effectively communicate coverage and plan design changes to employees and managers

o Monitor benefits utilization, self-insured claims trends, and cost containment opportunities

o Design root cause analysis leveraging data from tier 1 support to improve user experience (e.g., system fixes, education/training, and communications)
• Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
• 4-7 years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits analysis and program administration
• CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) certification preferred
• Knowledge of Canadian or other global benefits programs preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and compensation/benefits modeling; experience with HRIS compensation and benefits modules
• Strong working knowledge of federal and state compensation and benefits regulations (FLSA, ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, pay transparency laws)
• Demonstrated experience participating in compensation surveys and applying market data to pay decisions
• Ability to work highly independently and exercise sound judgment on complex technical and business matters; ability to serve as a team lead for the work group
• Strong analytical, consultative, and communication skills; ability to translate data into clear, outcome-forward recommendations for leadership
• High level of discretion in handling confidential compensation and benefits information
• Familiarity with AI/automation tools for data analysis and reporting desired

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $135,000 to $150,000 annually. Pay is based upon several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. Rise Baking Company complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your annual salary, Rise Baking Company offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, annual bonus eligibility, incentive and recognition programs and 401k contributions (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
