SENIOR CODING AND COVERAGE PROGRAM MANAGER

What you'll do.

The Senior Coding and Coverage Program Manager plays a key role in advancing the organization's payer strategy and influencing coverage and payment policy that affects neurologic care nationwide. This role helps position AAN as a trusted resource for payers across the U.S., while leading neurology coding initiatives and developing valuable member resources related to coverage, coding, and reimbursement. The position also represents AAN at the AMA CPT Editorial Panel and the ICD-10 Coordination & Maintenance Committee, helping shape important decisions that impact the field.

What we look for.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Health Policy, Communications or related field


Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a healthcare setting (e.g., physician practice, insurance company, medical specialty society)
  • Demonstrated ability to uphold the AAN's values
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to deliver when facing multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Ability to be successful in a frequently changing environment
  • Designation such as Managed Healthcare Professional (MHP) or Health Insurance Association (HIA) or Fellow, Health Insurance Advanced Studies (FHIAS), Certified Professional Code (CPC) is preferred
  • Experience reviewing insurance coverage policies is preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of physician payment and coding systems (e.g., CPT codes and coverage policies) is preferred


Relevant education and/or experience exceeding the required qualifications may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Travel Requirements: Travel required - up to 15%

Location: Minneapolis, MN, and is identified as hybrid (required to work in the office with the ability to work remotely part of the week)

Schedule: Some evening and weekends required
