The Opportunity:

The candidate will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of cloud-based infrastructure and services as well as some on-premises infrastructure. This role ensures stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the cloud computing environment, supporting both production and development workloads. The administrator collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement scalable solutions and secure architectures that meet business objectives.

This position encompasses a blend of traditional system administration responsibilities along with a strong emphasis on DevSecOps practices and Agile methodologies. This is a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our systems while actively contributing to the development and deployment of our software products. There is an expectation not just to have impeccable communication skills, but to readily collaborate with technical colleagues on the same team and on cross-team interactions. There is also a requirement to be able to breakdown verbally communicated needs into actionable and documented technical requirements as well as analyze current technologies and recommend cutting-edge solutions to fulfill current and future requirements.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Deep understanding of Linux and Windows Server operating systems in cloud environments
  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell DSC
  • Automating routine tasks through scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash)
  • Deep understanding of Azure DevOps Server
  • Deep understanding of System Administration in various environments to include on-premises, Azure hybrid cloud and Azure cloud
  • Experience utilizing DISA STIGs and/or security best database implementation and security practices (Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS) for securing systems.
  • Deep understanding with IaaS and PaaS deployments
  • Proficient with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Proficient providing Tier 2/3 support for cloud-related incidents and service requests
  • Experience enforcing compliance with data protection and privacy standards
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in collaboration with software development and operations teams
  • Experience monitoring system performance and availability using cloud-native and third-party tools
  • Excellent understanding of DevSecOps best practices
  • Strong knowledge in planning and performing in an Agile work environment with a focus on Agile development practices
  • Experience using project planning software (such as Jira, Jira Service Desk and Confluence for planning and task tracking)
  • Exceptional technical troubleshooting skills (applications, services, servers, networking, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal communications skills
  • Effective writing to produce documentation for technicians, and users


Desired Skills:
  • Proven experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud-native Kubernetes
  • Proficiency in container orchestration which involves managing and automating the deployment, scaling, and operations of application containers across clusters of hosts (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Docker Compose)
  • Proven integration of identity management and directory services, specifically ADFS integration (Active Directory Federated Services) and LDAP Integration (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol)
  • Single Sign-on Integration (such as SAML, OpenID)
  • Continuously identify and execute process improvement where efficiencies can be identified
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve team productivity and collaboration through Agile frameworks
