Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Information Technology department in Coppell, TX. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will serve as a hands-on technical leader, responsible for designing, automating, scaling, and maintaining secure, resilient cloud infrastructure that supports Samaritan Ark products. Working closely with the Lead Cloud Engineer, you will contribute to cloud infrastructure design and architectural decision-making while leading complex technical initiatives within the Cloud Services team. You will mentor junior Cloud Engineers and collaborate across product, platform, cybersecurity, and partner success teams to deliver performant, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions that meet organizational needs and ministry goals. In the role of Senior Cloud Engineer, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
  • Work closely with the Lead Cloud Engineer to architect, design, build, maintain, monitor, and optimize cloud infrastructure platform services that support the deployment and operation of ministry-critical cloud workloads.
  • Design, provision, and automate secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD tools to support development and production environments.
  • Mentor and provide technical oversight to Cloud Engineers, promoting skill development and engineering excellence.
  • Serve as a key contributor in the evaluation and adoption of emerging cloud technologies, advocating for improvements in resilience, cost, and maintainability.
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and long-term remediation for critical infrastructure issues.
  • Partner with cybersecurity and compliance teams to implement governance, access control, and cloud security best practices.
  • Contribute to internal tooling and documentation to improve team productivity, technical consistency, and system knowledge-sharing.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Utilize various Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to assist in optimizing engineering builds.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience :
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field of study and seven (7) or more years of Cloud Engineering experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation, Linux administration, virtualization, containerization, and scripting technologies, including Ansible, Chef, Puppet, VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes, Bash, PowerShell, and Python.
  • Knowledge of monitoring, observability, security, and cloud infrastructure technologies, including Grafana, Prometheus, CollectD, firewall configuration, network segmentation, automated web application security products, distributed storage solutions such as Ceph, and the practical application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support cloud operations and automation.
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, an opportunity to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire.
